“Are you sure about this?” Walker kept a hold of his hand, squeezing it. “I won’t lie. I want you so damn much, but we don’t have to fuck.”
Fernando looked over his shoulder and arched a brow. “No shit. If I didn’t want you, you wouldn’t be coming to my room.”
Walker stopped and adjusted himself. “Did you have to say that?”
Fernando snorted and pulled him to the wooden walkway leading to the hotel.
Walker stopped again, this time frowning. “Did you hear that?”
Fernando tilted his head, trying to hear whatever Walker was talking about. A soft whine came from under the wooden walkway.
Walker let go of Fernando’s hand and hopped over the rail, jumping to the sand below in one easy move. Fernando rolled his eyes and walked around the walkway, then slid clumsily down the bank to the sand.Fucking marines.
Walker was on his knees, ass in the air.
“This wasn’t how I thought the night would go, but I’m game.” Fernando patted Walker’s ass.
The alpha chuckled. “I think there’s a dog under here.”
Another whine came from under the walkway. Fernando knelt beside Walker and held his phone out, shining a light on the loose brush.
A pair of sad brown eyes watched him. The puppy was all matted fur and big eyes.Oh, fuck me. I’m in love, he thought with a gasp.
“Walker, get him out of there,” Fernando said, wanting to whine himself. “He looks hungry and thirsty. We got you, baby. Don’t worry.”
Walker slid under the walkway and gently pulled the puppy out, wiggling backward. His shirt rode up, and Fernando saw another tattoo.
“You have a tramp stamp, Walker? Really?”
“Caught your eye, didn’t it? Doing its job.” Walker grinned and cuddled the dirty, fluffy puppy. “Look at those paws. He’s going to grow into a big boy one day.” Walker cooed at the puppy.
Fernando’s heart melted.Damn him. Why does he have to be so fucking perfect?
“He’s so skinny,” Fernando said, feeling the puppy’s ribs through his fur.Poor baby. “Who would have left him here?”
“No tags,” Walker said. “We can take him to a veterinarian and see if he has a chip.”
“Most veterinary clinics are closed by now.” Fernando stroked the puppy’s floppy ears. “Are you hungry, sweetie? We’ll take you back to my room and clean you up and get you fed.”
Walker sighed, but tightened his arms around the puppy. “Little cockblocker’s pretty cute.”
Fernando smirked. “Take care of him while I ask the front desk if they have puppy food. Go to room one sixteen.”
Walker laughed. “Okay. Come on, buddy. At least we’re still getting into his room. You need a name, don’t you?”
Fernando smiled, then hurried to gather all the things he would need from the front desk. They were happy to provide him with puppy food, shampoo, and a leash, as long as he paid a pet deposit.
By the time they had fed the puppy, washed him, and brushed the tangles from his fur, the little guy was ready for a nap. They watched him pass out on a pillow on the floor.
“Well, this didn’t go quite how I thought it would,” Fernando said, exhausted. He watched Walker stroke a hand up and down the puppy’s back.Softie.
Walker looked up and smiled. “Me neither. He’s cute, though. I’m glad we found him. It gets cold at night.”
Fernando pulled off his shirt and leaned back on the bed, spreading his legs. He bit back a laugh when Walker’s eyes went straight to his dick. “Night’s not over yet.”
