Wes stared at the page. The emotional flash-bang exploded through the top of his head.

Female, age 28, later identified as Eleanor West, found in an unheated barn in Artillery Ridge, January 4th, wearing a white cotton bra and white linen sleeveless dress, white underwear pulled down. Body temperature, 81 degrees F. Hemorrhaging vaginally; ME identified placental tissue in the underwear. Transported via ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital.

Patient admitted. Comatose five days. When patient awoke, no memory past an escape from a location in a rural area of Fredericksburg. Claimed other women were being held. Agent Lawrence Nash believed she was a willing participant. Claimed she was hiding things. He planned to bring her in for questions monthly. Nash provided no further information.

“I know she works here. I need to question her, Wes,” Keith said.

Wes picked up his phone. “This is Crockett; I need location of Eleanor West.” The phone buzzed quickly. “Yeah, alright.” He hung up. “She’s in our stable with our therapy staff.”

“Okay, let’s talk to the high schoolers. Then I can talk to Eleanor.”
