“No, ma’am. We are providing security for you.”
“Security?”
“Yes, with the night’s events.”
“You mean the day’s events. I heard Mr. Chase. He’s taking responsibility for me, so I don’t flee. He thinks I know something too,” Eleanor said.
“Not quite.” Troy leaned against the door jamb. “He wants to find out what they think you know. Time for bed.” He moved down the hall.
“He can be scary.” Eleanor stood and headed to the bathroom.
“Everyone can be when pushed,” Adina said.

Troy relieved Tango Team’s medic to grab something to eat and hit the head. He sat in the chair beside the sleeping Gwen. She suddenly sat up with a gasp and groaned in pain, “Argh.”
“Hey, you’re okay. Rest easy.” Troy shifted and sat on the bed beside her.
“What time is it?” Gwen lay back on the pillows.
“0400. Want to talk about it?” He offered her a bottle of water from the bedside table.
“How is everyone?”
“First: name, place, day.” Troy’s lips quirked up.
Gwen answered and asked again.
“Hopper is stable. O’Mara is critical. Everyone else is serious.”
“Gator?”
“Running both teams with Thorn. Worried. They found more skeletal remains in the cabin wreckage. An infant,” Troy advised her. “Tell me about the dream.”
“Replaying tonight. I can’t put my finger on it. There was something.”
“You fell two stories. Your body needs the rest. Try to go back to sleep,” Troy said softly. “Tomorrow will be better.”
“Thank you, Mr. Bremen.” She fell back to sleep.
Troy looked down at the beautiful woman and wondered why she hadn’t found anyone.
