“We are family. We take care of our own. Now, please go with Josh and Adina. Director Samuels and I have the matter of Agent Murrow to discuss.” Ian pressed his shoulders back.
Eleanor watched Josh stiffen at his boss’s tone. “Yes, sir,” she offered meekly.
Inside the hall, Adina, a member of Bravo Team, turned to look at Eleanor. “Ms. West, are you feeling alright?”
Eleanor shook her head. “I’m stuffed up; my head feels like it’s ready to explode; I’m thirsty, and I want to take a nap,” she admitted.
“Eleanor, I’m Josh. I’m head of the company’s Bravo Team. Let’s get you to the car.”
Adina held the Navigator’s door open, and Josh helped her climb in. Her legs felt like jelly. “Thank you.”
Josh climbed into the driver’s seat and tapped his Bluetooth. “This is Stone. Connect me with DC Health.”
“DC Health. PA 72 speaking.”
“I’m transporting a thirty-year-old female complaining of headache, thirst, congestion and fatigue. Currently en route to transport patient by helicopter to Leesburg, VA, from DC, or should we divert to your location?”
“Is patient able to speak with me?”
“Affirmative.”
“This is Claude; who am I speaking with?”
“You’re speaking to Ellie. First name only,” Josh said.
“Ellie, tell me how you are feeling?” Claude asked.
“Like I’m coming down with a bug. I have my cycle, and I haven’t had anything to drink since early this morning,” she said.
“Do you feel able to travel?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Ellie, drink fluids and report to the clinic on the grounds of the Center for Training. Mr. Stone, make sure Ellie drinks. Preferably an electrolyte-based drink.”
“Roger,” Josh said, then turned in his seat. “Ellie, we’re driving to our helipad to fly directly to the Center for Training.”
Adina slid in beside Eleanor, and they drove off.

“Ihave one meeting to attend. From 2100-2300 tonight and 0500-1000 tomorrow, my office door is open for questions and comments.” Wes walked from the auditorium after explaining and assuring his staff that things were under control. For the time being, he asked all female staff to be accompanied by security staff when changing locations. And he promised all the programs would continue as planned.
Troy and Kip stood waiting for him. “You accomplished what you needed to,” Kip said. The trio walked into Wes’s office and closed the door behind them.
“Any word from DC?” Wes asked.
“Not yet. Mike said he’d touch base with us at 2030 either way,” Troy said.
“I feel so hopeless. Clearly the FBI believes she knows more.” Wes made a cup of coffee.
“What do you think?” Kip stared at his friend.
“I think there is more to the story. She is keeping secrets.” Wes ran his hand through his hair. “And either the report is wrong, or Ellie is lying about checking in with her Witsec handler, Starr.”
“I heard what she said on the recording. She claimed she was checking in all the time.” Troy frowned. “I hate to say this, but is this handler Starr playing her?”
Brandon Finch knocked on his door. “Mr. Crockett, you wanted to see me?”
