Chapter twenty-one

Daniel

Daniel had never been happier.

He woke up every morning excited about the day ahead. Whether he was in his new workshop, the King’s Guard’s meeting room, or Bianca’s penthouse, there was always something fun to do. Even better, most days included quality time with his omegas. Daniel had thought his life was complete when he’d unexpectedly found his pack, but this was an entirely new level of contentment. The two omegas notched so perfectly into Pack King’s routine that Daniel knew it had to be the result of divine intervention. The five of them were meant to be.

The beach trip was Daniel’s idea of a perfect vacation. Pack King had Bianca and Callum all to themselves, far away from the demands and distractions of Smyrna City. They didn’t have to worry about what gossip would spread if they were seen, didn’t have to watch the clock and contend with calendars. They could just enjoy each other.

It was amazing to see his BB let her hair down a little and act like a regular person. Daniel couldn’t take his eyes off her as she floated in the ocean, her beautiful face unusually serene as she bobbed on the waves. With her dark hair floating around her face and her storm cloud eyeson the sky, she looked like the siren he knew she was. She’d been calling to him since the moment they met and he’d been helpless to resist. He couldn’t fucking wait until she was theirs for good.

After the early morning drive and the long day on the beach, the pack had planned a quiet evening and homecooked meal at the rental. Of course, once they entered the condo, Bianca got that look on her face that made Daniel laugh and King want to spank her. It amused the hell out of Daniel to see how she got under King’s skin. His pack leader was hard to ruffle, but he’d finally met his match in Bianca Bonnycastle.

It was good for him, in Daniel’s humble opinion. King had been a pillar of discipline and control for too long, undoubtedly trying to make up for his chaotic younger years. He needed an omega like Bianca to challenge and push him.

“Van, take Trouble with you to the shower, and get cleaned up. Keep the grab ass to a minimum, please, because you two are helping with dinner.” King gave orders in his typical authoritative tone but threw Callum a teasing wink. “If he’s good, he can be our dessert.”

Daniel’s chest swelled with pride when Callum lit up in response; there were practically hearts in his amber eyes as he smiled at King. It was encouraging to see how much the omegas enjoyed pleasing Pack King. They were each getting increasingly comfortable with one another, building individual connections as well as the collective camaraderie. They were compatible in so many ways, five unique puzzle pieces who fit together to form something beautiful. Very, very soon, Pack King would ask their omegas to make things official, and the picture would be complete.

“I can’t cook. So, unless you want burnt cereal for dinner, don’t ask for my assistance,” Bianca announced, wrinkling her nose in that adorableway she did when she was disgusted with something. “And before you suggest it, I have no desire to learn. I am not the domestic type.”

Daniel grinned, as completely unsurprised by her announcement as his packmates were. It was funny that she believed there was much about her they hadn’t noticed. He’d spent sixty to eighty percent of his time with her for months and was pretty sure he’d never seen her so much as touch a stove.

“We know where your strengths lie, BB,” Daniel assured her. “The only thing you have to do in the kitchen is get eaten.”

Bianca rolled her eyes. Dante groaned. Callum gave him a thumbs down. King sighed.

Daniel grinned widely. They all fucking loved him. He could feel it.

“You two are relieved from dinner duty because Dante will be helping you with your hair,” King continued, ignoring Daniel, even though he was obviously amused. “Be as quick as you can. We all need dinner ASAP after all that frolicking and shit.”

“No promises,” Dante teased, grabbing Bianca’s ass and steering her toward the main bedroom. She squeaked and let out a surprised giggle that filled Daniel with warmth.

“And y’all say I’m the troublemaker,” Callum mused, shaking his head at Dante’s and Bianca’s retreating forms.

“With a capital T,” King replied flatly, though his eyes twinkled. “Now hurry up and get back. I need you in here.”

Callum’s answering smile was every bit as radiant as the sun drifting toward the horizon beyond the windows. With his typical sass, he blew King a kiss before sashaying out of the kitchen. Daniel couldn’t resist smacking his ass. The omega squealed and scurried toward the hall bathroom with Daniel hot on his heels. King’s quiet laughter echoed behind them.

The shower was a good size, even for someone as large as Daniel, and Callum fit nicely beneath the shower head with him. The moment they were in the water, Daniel grabbed his face in both hands and kissed him hard. Electricity sparked when their lips touched, filling Daniel with a warm buzz that was as addictive as the omega’s French toast scent.

Daniel wanted to kiss Callum Clifton-Merriwether every day for the rest of his life. Callum’s sweet taste matched his massive heart and loving personality. It was great having another person around who could match his own high energy and general shenanigans. Daniel loved how he brought the office to life, how he made every person who came into the building feel welcome, no matter if they were a client, a contractor, or a lost stranger. It was a cliché to say so, but Callum brightened up every room he walked into. And Daniel was a moth, drawn inexorably to his glow.

“King said there was to be no hanky panky, Dan the Van, so stop trying to get me in trouble,” Callum panted, pulling free of Daniel’s embrace. “I have to behave myself so that I can be dessert, remember? Pass me the soap, Vantonio.”

Daniel cackled a laugh. He loved how Callum had taken to giving him increasingly ridiculous nicknames. It was another example of how his omega matched his energy. Daniel couldn’t get enough of it.

He stole another quick kiss, dropping a hand to squeeze Callum’s ass. “King didn’t say I couldn’t have a little appetizer.”

Callum laughed and playfully shoved him away, making Daniel wince. The omega’s expression immediately shifted from mischief to concern. He stepped back to better inspect Daniel, his eyes narrowing.

“Your pecs are looking pink, and so are your ears. Turn around let me look at the rest of you,” he demanded, twirling a finger impatiently. He tutted in dismay when Daniel turned his back. “Oh, Vaniel, your neck! Iknew you were doing a haphazard job reapplying sunscreen. Now you’ve got a sunburn.”

Daniel spun around to face Callum again, grabbing his waist and pulling him close. “You never did apply any to my cock. Have you checkeditfor sun damage?”

Callum rolled his eyes. “Enough, Danthony. You’re incorrigible. Let’s get you out of this shower so we can put something on those burns.”

Daniel laughed and wrapped the sexy little brat in a hug, planting a kiss on his forehead. “You’re awful cute when you fuss, but you don’t need to fret. This ain’t even bad. I grew up on a farm, remember? I am practically immune to UV rays.”
