“Fuck. Yes,” she said in a tight voice.

So he pumped his fingers into her and grazed his teeth back and forth over her nipple, applying pressure to her clit until her back arched off the ground and she clenched and pulsed and cried out his name.

He slowed his motions as the tension drained from her body, resting his hand almost protectively over her sweet pussy. He was rock hard and aching, but he didn’t want to move, not when his cheek rested between her breasts and he could feel her heartbeat pounding away.

Slowly, ever so slowly, her hands drifted up his back to rest on his shoulders, and for the first time in a long, long time, everything inside him settled into a peaceful place.

TWENTY-TWO

“Camping. Is. Awesome.”

She was still in the grips of a ridiculously good afterglow as she said it, and Leo dropped a kiss to her sternum that seared through her shirt before he rolled over to flop onto his back.

“Agreed.”

The clouds had started to break up while he was playing her body like a fiddle, and traces of silvery moonlight trickled through the nylon overhead, which meant she could clearly see his cock tenting the front of his sweats. With zero self-consciousness, he squeezed it once before releasing it and tucking his arm behind his head. His eyes were shut, and she could just make out the lush curve of his bottom lip.

It was too much for her to resist.

“Can I?” She repeated the words he’d said to her earlier and trailed her hand downward, but he caught it and brought it to his lips, brushing a kiss over her knuckles.

“Not tonight.”

Everything inside her turned to ice. In her experience, a guy turning you down for sex wasn’t the best sign. But when she tried to pull away, he held tight to her hand, refusing to let go.

“The things I want to do to you, Dutch,” he said in a low voice. “There’s not enough room in this tent.”

Everything that was frozen melted. “Oh.” She gulped. “Okay.”

“Plus,” he said, releasing her hand, “I didn’t pack condoms for this trip. Obviously.”

Her discomfort eased even more. “That’s actually a mark in your favor, given that it was supposed to be an all-ages outing.”

“Thanks.” He grinned over at her. “But maybe when we’re back in town—”

“Sex?”

His smile turned teasing. “I was thinking dinner. Maybe a movie.”

“And then sex?” She scooched closer and did the extremely brave thing of resting her head on his chest.

He immediately slid an arm under her and hugged her close. “One-track mind.” He rested his cheek against the top of her head, his stubble catching on the loose strands of her hair. “But yes, if you insist, we can have all the sex you want. Whenever you want it.” He paused, then muttered, “Especially where William can hear.”

She tried to pinch the negative amount of fat she found on his torso.

“Hey!” he objected.

“I’ve changed a lot since high school, but I haven’t picked up an exhibitionist streak.”

“You really haven’t changed that much.” At her disbelieving snort, he ran a hand down her back. “Still smart. Still mouthy. Still the hottest girl I know.”

“Mmmpf.” She nestled closer to him, intending to launch into all kinds of counterarguments about how she’d only gotten more stubborn over the years, more argumentative. Bigger and louder in every way. Instead, the day caught up with her, and rather than debating with him, she fell hard into sleep, only to return to consciousness with sunshine and birdsong surrounding her.

Sunshine and birdsong and Leo. They’d shifted in their sleep into big spoon/little spoon position, and his arm around her waist was maybe the nicest way she’d ever woken up.

He stirred as she grew more alert.

“Morning.”
