Chen smiled because he wondered if his little Imp would be able to be selfless. He knew he was spoiled and greatly loved by his parents. The fact that Yìchén was willing to leave for him made him want the man even more. "I'd rather stay here, and it's not just for you to stay in your university and with your friends. I like it here, and I really think Li will need me. Serving the heir to the Dragonhead of the Jade Dragon Triad is also an honor."
Yìchén smiled because he really did want to stay. Not only would he be able to hang out with his friends, but he'd be closer to his two siblings once Li and Xiù took over New York. "It's decided then. We'll stay."
Chen nodded. "We'll stay."
Yìchén grinned before kissing his man again, but then he pushed him away and sat back down on the bed. "I know my dad wants to have a meeting. I don't want you to miss it. Go."
Chen smirked. "Who knew my Imp had grown up so much?"
"For you, I can move mountains." He looked up at Chen as if he were larger than life, feeling lucky to have him all to himself.
Chen chuckled at that. "When all of this is over, I'm going to give you everything you want, and I'm going to do things to you that I need."
"What do you need? What is that exactly?" Yìchén asked because he figured one of Chen's weaknesses, or rather turn-ons, is being the predator who chases his prey.
Chen leaned down, caressing Yìchén's jaw; his thumb ran over Yìchén's bottom lip as their eyes locked in an intense stare. "To own you."
"To chase me?" Yìchén implored.
"To claim you as my reward," Chen said.
Oh sweet Jesus! Yìchén thought, and he whimpered. "Tease."
"I'm not teasing; I'm promising. We'll talk later," Chen said, then left.
Yìchén threw himself on the bed, buried his face in his pillow, and screamed in joy. The pillow muffled the sound, and once he was done, he rolled over and smiled widely at the rotating ceiling fan. "I finally got him."
Now the only thing he couldn't wait for was for this war to be over so that he could go back to living his best life.
Chapter twenty-four
Enzo
Enzothrewthecoldwater in Li's face, jarring the man awake. "Who knew I put your lights out that deep? I thought you'd sleep forever," he taunted. One of his men handed him a brand new water bottle, which he twisted the cap off before taking several swallows.
Li glared up at the man who had the nerve to attack him. Water dripped from his now wet hair into his eyes, and he shook his head a little to clear his vision. "I'm going to fucking kill you."
Enzo laughed at what he considered a weak threat. "There's nothing I detest more than someone talking shit when they need to shut the fuck up."
"Do you think I'm afraid of you?" Li snapped.
"You should be thanking me. Had I not had the bright idea to keep you alive as a bargaining chip, I'd be texting your dear ol' daddy photos of you and your sister's corpses with laugh emojis, motherfucker. You and your bitch of a sister have one useful purpose." He held up a finger. "Just one. And that's leverage. Once my father contacts yours and lets him know that we have his precious offspring, he'll know the game is over. That way, your little triad can pack your shit and get your ass back on a plane to China, Moo Goo Gai Pan-style."
Li snorted. "That was racist when you didn't even need to be, and that's rich coming from a mixed-breed mutt like yourself."
"Wrong, it was prejudice."
"Aren't you half black, half Italian? What room do you have to be prejudiced?" Li retorted.
"He's not wrong; that was unnecessary," Dragon said as he entered the room and took a seat before taking a swig of his beer.
"See, even he knows you're a moolie asshole, even to your own people," Li taunted because he wanted to push Enzo's buttons.
"You talking all that yin-yang bullshit? I'm going to slap you with my enlightening front and back hand, bitch," Enzo said, which made Li roll his eyes.
Dragon shook his head as he chuckled. "Okay, that was a good one."
Enzo smirked but then walked up to Li. "You really thought you could take us on?"
