Naomi shakes her head, mouth agape in shock. That’s not who she expected. Not that she had any expectations, aside from maybe a sleazy old music exec, but definitely not Colton Scott, even if he was one of Harlow’s ex-boyfriends. Colton is—was?—one of America’s most beloved actors. A perfect specimen of a man. Like Hercules. Invincible. He’s Mr. America, for Christ’s sake. How could this happen? And at the hands of bony Harlow Hayes?
“I…” Naomi shakes her head again, trying to find the words. “So Colton Scott is dead? THE Colton Scott, as in, Mr. America Colton Scott? How do you…?”
“Okay, so I don’t have confirmation or anything, and this is going to be a bit long-winded, but just bear with me, K?”
Naomi gestures for Amelia to get on with it, overwhelming curiosity making her antsy.
“So, like Harlow, Colton is managed by Sam Brixton. I don’t work on his account either—I used to be jealous of my co-workers who worked with the big celebs while I got all these boring companies to work with, but now I’m pretty bloody grateful, but anyway, I digress… One of the company directors, Max, mentioned last week how Colton didn’t show up to this video shoot he was supposed to be doing for a major cologne brand. It was all ready to go and, after months in the making, he just didn’t show. He’s always had a good rep around the office, so this was out of character. But Max hasn’t been able to get a hold of him AT ALL since then, and Sam won’t respond to his calls either…”
Naomi furrows her brow in concentration as she considers what Amelia said. “I mean, it’s a stretch. But I suppose he did date Harlow on and off for a long time, didn’t he? And I guess he’s exactly the sort of person—comes from the sort of family—that would be able to keep this so quiet.” She thinks about the powerful empire that is the Scott family. An American institution with as much influence as the Kennedys or Rockefellers.
Amelia nods in agreement. “Exactly. Plus, what’s that saying—‘It’s always the boyfriend’? Guess it’s the girlfriend this time…”
“But they haven’t dated in, what, three years?” Naomi says. “It doesn’t make any sense. “Why now? And how?”
Amelia shrugs. “Maybe they had a more recent relationship that flew under the radar. Something that turned really sour this time.”

The Rising Star of Colton Scott:
Hollywood’s New Superhero
Scott remains humble as ever, despite landing his biggest role to date in the highly anticipated Mr. America, set to hit screens next summer
BY KELLY PORTER – MAY 14, 2021
Colton Scott is sitting comfortably in a plush gray chair in his favorite Los Angeles restaurant, sipping a coffee, as I walk in to greet him. He gets up as I approach, pressing his hands against his perfectly tailored suit before extending one out to me.
It goes without saying that Scott is the object of many a woman’s—and man’s—affection. And seeing him in person does not disappoint. With dark brown hair and stubble contrasting against fair skin, kind brown eyes shadowed by thick lashes most women would pay for, and what can only be described as a megawatt smile, he exudes a sort of nostalgic, alluring radiance. He is old and new Hollywood combined into one.
It’s not surprising, though, considering Scott comes from one of America’s wealthiest families. Descended from a line of oil tycoons on his father’s side and a political dynasty on his mother’s, Colton Maxwell Scott is a nepo baby of sorts. But you’d never guess he was born into so much wealth and privilege if you didn’t know. He’s gracious, endearing, and conscientious, treating everyone around him with kindness, even asking the waiters personal questions and helping stack the plates on the table.
Coming off the heels of indie breakout filmMoonbeam, about a young scientist who discovers something sinister in our skies (a departure from Scott’s usual action roles), Scott recently landed the coveted role of the beloved hero “Mr. America,” in what is rumored to be Sunrise Studios’ most expensive movie to date. Also starring veteran Blaze Butler and Scott’s formerHighland Love(2019) co-star Meghan Rhodes, the action-packed thriller will be brought to the big screen from the mind of legendary Clint Caruso, who previously worked with Scott onDoomsday(2017) andMojave(2018).
I congratulate Scott and ask how he feels to be named America’s new superhero.
“Frankly, I’m honored,” he says, holding his hands up, cheeks flushing red. “But honestly, just to have the amazing opportunity to work on this project with Clint and everyone at Sunrise is all I need. I only hope I can make America proud. It’s a big role to live up to.”
I ask if there’s anything he can tell us about the project, which has remained heavily under wraps until the recent casting announcement.
He rubs his hand over his chin, his cheeky smile adding a boyish charm to his demeanor. “All I can say is that I’ve been looking for a script like this for a long time, let me tell ya. A powerhouse action film but one with a strong emotional core.” He places his elbows on his knees and clasps his hands together. “Between me and you,” he winks, “I actually found a few scripts I loved but ultimately the part went to someone else. But it’s all gravy. It’s all good. Because in the end, I think the universe was telling me those weren’t my roles. This was it. Because if I had played those, this one may not have worked out for whatever reason—maybe I would have been shit in those and no one would’ve ever hired me again. But my character, Jim, he’s a fighter. A real fighter. And I know I come from a privileged upbringing for sure, but I’ve had my struggles too, and just really admire his spirit. How he never gives up. How everything he does is for the one he loves. I really can’t wait to bring the script to life and for America—and the world—to fall in love with Jim like I have.”
Filming on the first installment ofMr. Americais due to begin this summer, with a release date slated for 2023.

PARIS IS FOR LOVERS: HARLOW HAYES AND COLTON SCOTT BOTH SPOTTED IN THE CITY OF LOVE MONTHS AFTER RUMORED BREAKUP
By Sophie Bianca–December 6, 2021
It seems Harlow Hayes’ new siren song may have guided her leading man back home. Or to Paris, at least…
“I’ll be your lighthouse, burning bright across the sea. Baby, endless summers ahead, if only you come back to me.” That’s what Hayes sings in the chorus of the second-chance love ballad “Endless Summers.” When the single was released in October, fans speculated it was an attempt to win longtime on-again, off-again beau Colton Scott back after whatever spat they had around September’s VMAs—where Hayes tripped and fell during her “To the Nines” performance with Mama Money.
Hayes, who hasn’t released an album since the chart-toppingRed, White, & Blue(rumored to be about her and Colton’s various ups and downs) in 2019, has been in the UK and Europe finally promoting the single to her fans across the pond. And it seems she may have cast her spell over theMr. Americastar once again, as he reportedly flew all the way from his film set in Los Angeles to be with his heartbroken songstress.
