While there isn’t an obvious recent connection between Harlow and Jade, Naomi wonders if there’s one from a very long time ago. Interviewer:“Give it up for Harlow Hayes, everyone!” *applause*
Harlow Hayes:“Hi!” *waves to the crowd*
Interviewer:“Wow, Harlow Hayes. It’s so great to have you. So great. First of all, you look fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.” *gestures to Harlow, audience cheers* “Sounds like the audience is loving the new look too.”
Harlow Hayes:“Thank you, thank you.” *smiles* “It’s so nice to be back. And yes. It was time for a change, so…”
Interviewer:“You know, I was thinking…”
Harlow Hayes:“What have you been thinking?”
Interviewer:“If you can look this great dyeing your hair black, do you think… I could pull off blonde?” *raises eyebrow* “With some frosted tips, perhaps?”
Harlow Hayes:*laughs* “It’s giving NSYNC. Love it. I say go for it.”
Interviewer:*turns to camera* “Early-2000s boy bands, watch out. I’m coming for you!” *looks at Harlow* “Hey, if I go through with this, I expect you to be there for moral support. I’ll have my people call your people. You’re going to hold my hand as they dye it blonde.”
Harlow Hayes:“I’ll be there, of course. You just tell me where and when.”
Interviewer:“Hell yeah!” *turns to audience* “You heard it here folks, okay?” *turns back to Harlow* “Anyway, you know there’s such a buzz all around the block tonight. Everyone’s so excited you’re here. The fans are dedicated, man.” *audiences cheers, Harlow smiles, puts her hand to her heart* “I don’t know if you know, but some have been camping out overnight. Mayhem. Chaos! But it’s because they’re DESPERATE to get a glimpse of you. Because you’ve been kind of MIA for, what… two years now?”
Harlow Hayes:“Um yeah, it’s wild. So first of all, thank you all so much! I’m so, so incredibly grateful for all my fans and everyone who has stuck around while I’ve been… rediscovering myself. And yeah, I just needed some time. To figure out what artist I want to be rather than what I’ve already done.”
Interviewer:“So tell me, what’s this album about then? What does… Apotheosis… mean?”
Harlow Hayes:“Well, Apotheosis means the culmination of the highest point of something. The point at which a person transforms into a divine being, shall we say. So the songs kind of tell a story like that. And how you get to that place.”
Interviewer:“How do you get to that place?”
Harlow Hayes:“By embracing the darkness.” *smirks*
Interviewer:“Well, it looks like you’ve quite literally embraced the darkness. You are darkness.”
Harlow Hayes:*purses her lips and shrugs* “Maybe I am.”
