“I’ve known him for quite some years now, and we’ve talked about his personal life a few times. Although it’s nothing serious, it is enough for me to know he’s single,” Katherine replies.
“Oh, does he live around here?” I implore further.
“Nope, he lives in Crystal Mill, but he works at John Andrews.”
“Crystal Mill? Is that place not a mountain or…?” I squeeze my face confusedly.
“Haha, yeah, but people live there.” Katherine moves away from where she stood to attend to one of her customers.
A small sigh escapes from my lips as I stand there, staring at his contact, so excited that he’s willing to help. It does not matter where he lives, I’m sure we can somehow make this work. I press my phone against my chest, stamping my lips together happily. Even YouTube is not ready for what I’m bringing. I’m certain this is going to be a blast.

Sophia called earlier than I expected. When I saw my phone ring this morning, seeing an unknown number dangling on its screen, I knew it had to be her. But I was surprised because I wasn’t expecting her to call this morning. I mean, we only met yesterday. How desperate is she?
Anyway, I’m driving down to the city now, to her apartment. I think the address she gave me is her house’s address. I don’t even know why I agree to do this. Well, I don’t have anything to lose. Plus, I get to see her pretty face as much as I want. My life has been boring this whole time; making videos with her would bring fun and excitement to my life. At least, I can now spend my free days doing something more fun instead of sucking up my uninteresting life.
I park my truck in front of a building, pull the door open and hop out. The city is just very different from Crystal Mill. The hustle and bustle are too much for my liking. I will choose a rural life over this any time any day. Some people wonder how I live in Crystal Mill without feeling like I’m missing out on many things. My colleagues have even called me weird, wondering how I live in a place like that. For an unsophisticated person like me, Crystal Mill is the perfect place. City life does not move me one bit.
As I’m about to knock, my phone rings again. Oh, thank goodness, she just saved me the stress of knocking.
“Hi, I’m standing at your porch,” I speak after picking the call.
“Oh, are you?” she chirps from the other end of the phone.
“Why don’t you open the door to find out?”
“Okay, I’m…” She pulls the door open. “Hi,” her face breaks into a big smile.
“Hey.”
“Come inside,” she ushers me inside, and I try so hard not to stare at her ass. Why is she even wearing this? She’s wearing small shorts and a see-through cotton top.
“I didn’t expect you to be this early. Wow, keeping to time?” Sophia flashes me a small look. “You must be German!” she jokes before laughing.
“What’s bad about keeping to time?” I raise my eyebrows, helping myself to a seat.
“Well, nothing, nothing at all. Let me get my camera and change into something more decent. I’ll be back,” Sophia winks at me before walking inside.
I sigh, knowing I’m going to sit here forever. When a lady says she’s going to get dressed, just know you will wait for two to three hours. I can never comprehend why they take so long to dress.
...
So, it took Sophia one hour, fifteen minutes to get dressed. She announced that she would like to make the first video at Katherine’s restaurant. We just arrived there now, and she talked all through the drive. She’s still talking as we walk.
“…it’s the main reason why I want to shoot this video here. I’m sure it would be a blast, and I’d like to tag ‘Kate’s restaurant’ as the location. You know promotional stuff and all.” She flashes me a small stare, double-checking to see if I’m still with her.
“Hm, sure,” I reply with a nod, trying to hide the fatigue on my face. I have literally run out of responses.
“Exactly, cos I had this friend, she sells jewelry, her business had hit rock bottom at that time. Guess how her business was revived?”
“Tell me,” I show interest.
“One of her friends, a YouTuber like me, you might know her, Amber Jones. Do you know her?” she asks.
“I think I’ve heard of her. But I don’t know her; I’m not a big YouTube person,” I explain.
