“Where is the bathroom?” I ask while looking around.

“It is right there,” she points to a corner in the room.

“Wow!” My face breaks into total blankness as I nod my head and walk inside the room.

It’s neat but too tiny, and I can’t be comfortable staying here.

A loud sigh escapes from my lips, and I’m wondering if Doctor Garrett sent me here to punish me; because what can I learn in this hovel looking hospital?

“There’s an emergency!”

I hear someone shout from outside, I run out of the room to see what the situation is.

In the end, I am still a doctor whose main goal is to save lives, not minding when or where.

It rained cats and dogs yesterday night, I have been living here for years now, and I am still not used to the bone-chilling winter.

It's 6:00 am, I’m outside with my torchlight, trying to gather enough woods to survive. Yesterday night was sick, I literally froze in my cabin. The most difficult part of living here is the six-month-long winter.

It’s crazy, especially on days like this; there are mudslides and fallen trees everywhere. I have to be careful, but it’s not my first time. I just have to…

“Aargh!” I scream as my leg hits one of the broken trees’ branches in the forest. I can’t even see where I’m going, my torchlight has fallen from my hand, and it’s now rolling to a deep need that I can see. As I make a move to step out of where I stood, I realize I’m stuck in the heavy mud.

“Damn it!” I mutter a curse underneath my breath.

Determining to force my legs out of the thick mud, I hold the branch of a tree to support myself as I pull my legs out of the mud. Unknown to me that the tree branch is on the edge of breaking, as I pull it, I hear a creaky sound, and other branches of the tree collapse on me, hitting me directly on my head; I wobble and fell in the thick mud deposits.

“Aargh!” a loud scream escapes from my lips as I sink.

My left eye opens first, then the right one follows. I look around gently. Where am I? Is this a hospital? How did I get here?

Various questions form in my mind as I look around slowly. My vision is still blurry, and I can’t see the people around me.

“Hey, are you up?” a voice asks me.

“How did I get here?” I manage to ask.

“Doctor Newman, the leg sprain patient is up,” the voice shouts towards the entrance of the room.

My eyes finally open, and I look around slowly. It’s a hospital, and this is an emergency room. I can’t remember what happened. How did I get here? Who saved me?

“Oh, he’s awake?” a feminine voice implores as she walks inside the room.

I blink twice, thrice, and one more time again as I stare at the figure that is now standing beside my bed. I know her; she’s the woman that I met last week Saturday at the supermarket. Why is she here?

Oh, right, she said she is a doctor. But it’s not my first time in this hospital; I’m not sure I’ve seen her here before. How come she’s here now?

“You—” I try to sit up, but she stops me with her hand.

“You can’t sit up yet. You sprained your leg badly. You should rest,” she smiles, placing her hands on my chest to guide me back to the bed.

“Hey, do you work here?” I finally ask.

“Well, temporarily. I just got transferred here to assist in the meantime.”
