“I remember.”

“So, tell me what made you come here today.”

“I was curious. I wanted to…” I light blush crept up her cheeks. “I wanted to make sure you were okay, and to see where we stand.”

“We’ve talked every day. What made you wonder if I was okay?”

“Well, there was some talk about a terrible fight between two MCs in town. I heard it was pretty bad, and when I thought about Memphis and how he came over to you at the casino, I wondered if you might’ve been involved. And then, you were a little distant, and I started to get worried.”

“I see.”

“I told Lila Kate about it, and she said I should just come here and see you face to face. Which I did, and then, I find you with that woman. It made me wonder if you had something going with her or some other club girl, and it bothered me. It bothered me more than I care to admit, and now, here we are.”

“And now, here we are.”

“Okay. Now, it’s your turn,” she pushed. “And remember, no holding back.”

“Understood, but I can’t get into any club stuff. And that’s not just now. That’s always.”

She reached up and placed the palm of her hand on my bruised jaw. “Even when you’ve been hurt?”

“Even when I’ve been hurt.” Her eyes widened, but she didn’t argue. She just stood there, staring deep into my eyes as I told her, “But I can tell you this. You’ve got nothing to worry about with Misty or any other club girl. The only woman I’m interested in is in this room with me right now.”

“You sure about that?”

“Couldn’t be more sure.”

Without another word, I reached back up and placed my hand on the nape of her neck, pulling her mouth to mine. I was about to leave no question about how I felt about her. Before she left this room, she would know exactly how much I wanted her.

I kept my mouth planted on hers as I eased back and sat down on the bed, pulling her down with me, straddling my legs. A soft whimper escaped from her lips as they parted, allowing me to kiss her deeper.

Her arms wound around my neck as I guided her closer. My tongue tangled with hers as her fingers dove into my hair. The kiss quickly became heated, making my cock throb with need. Just like the first time we were together, everything about her had me in knots. There was no doubt about it.

And soon, she would have no question about my interest in her.

Presley was mine, and it was time she knew it.

PRESLEY

Iwas still catching my breath when reality started to settle back in.

I was in Luke’s room, in his bed, and while this wasn’t the first time we’d slept together, it felt like it was. Maybe it was because we’d been honest and upfront with one another, and we didn’t hold back. Luke certainly didn’t. My head was still spinning with a sated haze as I trailed my fingertip over the curves of his tattoos.

“This is your room?”

“It is.”

“How often do you stay here?”

Outside the door, the muffled hum of voices and footsteps reminded me that this wasn’t his house or my apartment. We were at the clubhouse, and we were far from alone. He brushed his thumb along my shoulder as he told me, “Depends on what’s going on.”

“Oh.” I glanced around the room, and while it was far from messy, it was lived in. There was a dresser with his belongings scattered about, a duffel bag on the floor, boots lining the floor, and even a couple of pictures of him and his brothers. “From the looks of it, you stay here quite a bit.”

“Just when it makes sense, like when there’s a club gathering, a late run, or a club meeting. Stuff like that, and if something happens, we have a safe place to fall back on.”

I nodded, trying to absorb everything he’d said. This wasn’t your typical nine-to-five thing. It was constant and shared among all the brothers. It seemed like a lot. Much more than I ever imagined.
