“Fuck you!”
“Fuck me? Fuckyou!” I yelled back at her.
“Let me try,” Jett said from behind me. “Please.”
Shoving off the door, I glared at him. “Be my fucking guest.”
“Queeny, it’s Jett. Open the door for me.”
“No.” I heard her crying get louder. “Just leave me alone. All of you.Please.”
Jett sighed and stood back. “Maybe we would be better leaving her? Until she’s calmed down.”
Idiot.
Pushing past him, I pounded on the door. “Open the fucking door, or I swear to Christ, I’m coming through it.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” I heard her screech.
Watch me.
Stepping back, I heard either my brotheror cousin shout, and then I kicked her bathroom door open. She was on the floor, her legs pulled up to her chest, her face wet with tears. When she saw me, she started to cry harder, and I didn’t fucking care that she hated me. Reaching down, I grabbed her by her upper arms, ignoring the pain in my hand as I hauled her to her feet. She had no choice but to stand, but she didn’t come easily. Her hands slapped and punched me as I pulled her up, and then my hands gripped her thighs as I lifted her up. Quinn’s fight was gone as quickly as it had come, and she wrapped her arms around me as she buried her head into my shoulder and sobbed uncontrollably.
“I know, baby, I know,” I told her as I rubbed her back. “It’s okay. I’m here.” I kissed the side of her head as I walked out of the bathroom. I could see Jett and Ash standing to the side, but I ignored them both as I headed to her bedroom.
“I didn’t know,” she cried, her voice muted as she tried to speak through her tears. Her fingers dug into my shoulders, twisting my jersey. “I swear I didn’t know, Gray.”
“I know,” I said as my hand stroked her hair. “I know.” I sat on the edge of her bed, with her still holding onto me. Jett hovered in the doorway, uncertain. “Can you make her a cup of tea?” I asked him quietly.
“Of course.” He disappeared from the doorway, and I pulled her closer to me as her crying continued, but it was softer now. My hand smoothed over her hair as she clung to me, and I tilted my head slightly so her head could rest against my neck as I soothed her.
“Shh, it’s okay,” I whispered as I rocked her gently. “It’s okay.”
It wasn’t okay, it may never be okay, but as she cried out her heartache, it was all I could say to comfort her. Ash filled the doorway, and I met his look, and I don’t know what he saw when he looked at me. His face was blank, his emotions closed off, and I was relieved when he moved away. Then I heard the front door close, and I knew he was gone.
“You okay?” I asked as I heard her tears lessen.
“No,” came the muffled reply.
“Jett’s making you tea,” I told her.
“I want bourbon,” Quinn replied.
“Yeah? Well, you’re getting tea.” I heard a soft laugh as she pressed closer to me, and my arms automatically tightened.
“Bastard.”
“Bitch,” I countered with a small smile as I felt her body relax a little.
“I freaked out,” she said as she moved her head to lie against my shoulder.
“Really? Didn’t notice,” I said, trying to put her at ease. “I did too when I found out,” I admitted when she said nothing.
“I didn’t know,” Quinn said as she straightened and looked at me. “Gray, I would never—”
My kiss wasn’t gentle. It wasn’t soft. It was as hard and demanding as I was, and Quinn readily accepted it. With a moan, her hands were in my hair, pulling me closer. I stood with her still wrapped around me, and I kicked her bedroom door closed. I didn’t care if Jett was out there; I wanted him gone.
Lowering us both to the bed, I settled in between her thighs as I rocked my hips against her. Quinn was already pulling at my jersey, and with a quick jerk, I pulled it over my head and flung it on the floor. She was still in her costume, the one-piece tight against her body. Kneeling between her legs, I slowly pulled the zip down, uncovering her chest, all the way past her belly button. With care, I pushed the open sides aside, uncovering more of her. My hands cupped her bra, and I winced at the pain in my hand before I brought my hand to my mouth and tugged the straps off with my teeth.
