“Last time we did that, I was told by the charwoman that my lover was having a baby.”
“How long are you going to hold that against him?” Oss asked.
“Until his kid has kids.” I knew how to hold a grudge, and I wasn’t going to let this one go. Whether it would spell the end of our relationship remained to be seen.
Thorne wrapped an arm around Oss’s shoulders. “Where do you think they took Buster?”
Oss leaned back against him. “I don’t know, but I’m sure they left a trail. Six men in black carrying another tends to leave an impression.”
“You aren’t worried about Buster?” I asked.
Oss shrugged. “A little. However, since you didn’t re-activate him, he should be fine for a while. We have some time before we need to worry about his health.”
“Unless they know how to wake him.” I tried not to be a pessimist, but my life hadn’t been filled with roses and rainbows. “He really needs to see a doctor.”
“I doubt they’ll know how to activate Buster,” Thorne said.
“Let’s hope not.” I didn’t want to think about what uses they had for a mechanical man.
We need to retrieve Buster and make them regret their abduction.
