“Can you remove it?” Quain asked. He tugged at thebracelet.

Anthony yanked his attention back to the present. “Of course.” He placed his fingers on either side of the clasp. Focusing on the band, he funneled a stream of his magic into the metal, overpowering the spell used to seal it around Quain’swrist.

Snap!

The bracelet fell to pieces on thecarpet.

Quain sighed and rubbed his wrist. “Thank you somuch.”

A second later, a lynx crouched in the spot Quain had occupied before. “Aren’t you a beautiful animal. Look at all your ear fluff,” Anthony crooned. He itched to touch the beautiful animal but knewbetter.

“He’s not a pet,” Peter reprimandedAnthony.

“I know. You’re a very handsome lynx.” Anthony told the creature watching him with wary golden eyes. He knew better than to pet a shifter. The only exceptions were Silver and Dare. The tiger shifter liked any kind ofaffection.

He walked back over to sit next to his mate and away from temptation. Silver wrapped an arm around him and hugged him close. A contented sigh escaped him when he snuggledin.

Quain transformed back. His relaxed expression showed the pain had vanished. His raw wrist now only slightlypink.

“All healed?” Anthonyasked.

“Mostly. It will probably take a couple of days to be fully healed, but after that, I’ll be fine,” Quainreplied.

“Good.” Relief showed on Peter’sface.

“You said the wizards captured you for your psychic abilities. Did you have visions under their care?” Silverasked.

“Yes, but I refused to give them anything.” Quain tilted his chin up defiantly, the proud cat in the man showingthrough.

Anthony’s esteem for Quain rose the more he learned. He couldn’t imagine how difficult resisting the wizards had been. The ragged edges of Quain’s aura revealed that his captors hadn’t taken his refusalwell.

“You might want to see a counselor about yourexperience.”

“Why?” Peter asked, his worried gaze went from his mate to Anthony and backagain.

“I—they didn’t treat me well.” Quain shuddered, then snuggled closer to Peter who wrapped his arm around him and pulled himclose.

“Do you know someone?” Peterasked.

“Yes.” Anthony pulled out his phone to scan his contact list. “Here he is. Dr. Radek Svoboda. He’s really good. He helped out one of my employees who’d been attacked last year, and I know he’s the psychiatrist for a couple of vampires. Give me your number, and I’ll text you theinfo.”

“My phone was damaged during my capture,” Quainsaid.

“You can use mine.” Peter pulled his device out of his shirtpocket.

Anthony quickly texted Peter theinformation.

Peter nodded when his phone pinged, and he checked the screen. “Got it. Thankyou.”

“You’re welcome.” Anthony always enjoyed helping out pack members. He spent most of his time at work and not as much time as he would like with thepack.

“Thank you as well,” Quain said, his voicesoft.

“You’re very welcome. We’ll make the people who harmed you pay.” The smell of ozone truly couldn’t be helped. He had held back the bolts of lightning he longed to release on the wizards and might still do if he found they were all aware of Quain’s captivity. These wizards needed to be brought down a notch, and he was just the man to doit.

“Come see us if you have any more information or need anything. You are now part of the pack,” Silversaid.

Anthony wrinkled his nose at Silver, knowing he had only said that to get the words in beforeAnthony.
