“Remember she will be mine before you drain her,” Ryker interjected stepping toward Natasha. “And I become Alpha of my own RavenWolf pack. We agreed.”
For a split second, I was grateful the future of my race was not dependent on him. We would go extinct in two days. The stupid bastard didn’t even know the RavenWolves had been officially destroyed—a large number of them killed by the same guy who he was just reminding of their “deal”.
There was nothing left for Ryker to go back to or rule. Not that he was surviving this.
“I said for you to remain back!” Françoys shouted, flinging his arm with the power band toward him. The invisible force threw Ryker back, slamming him against the wall.
“We had a deal!” Ryker growled, straining against the invisible restraints like he wanted to shift.
“We still have it,” Françoys snapped, his tone saying he couldn’t wait to kill Ryker and the other two. “Just. Be. Patient.”
Ryker’s gaze bored on Natasha with a mix of lust and hate, and he smirked at her like an idiot. The sick bastard was delirious if he thought André or I would let him get within a foot of our mate.
I clenched every muscle on my body when the Beast pushed to take over. My hands began transforming, fur trying to ripple over my skin, but I fought back furiously, even when my claws sliced through my own palms. I would not be the one to wreck Natasha’s plan and only chance to get her mom back.
“Fine,” Françoys answered, looking at Natasha. “But make it fast.”
“Does his stupid ass still think she is surrendering?”André sent into my mind only, and I internally snorted.
Our mate may not have told us her plan, but we knew Natasha would die before letting them have her blood.
When Natasha finally glanced back at us, the glint in her eyes told us this was it.
Overdoing her limping again so they thought she was too hurt to try anything, she took a couple of steps forward… and then jumped, using her Vampire speed to rotate above us.
As the fire-dancing wings began to come out from her back, everyone’s eyes widened in terror.
Too late motherfuckers.
Natasha thrust her wings open as she spun, firing blazing feathers in every direction.
Zooming through the air like bullets, the feathers blasted against everyone’s bodies before they could react, igniting them on contact. Her blaze rose eagerly, engulfing their forms, and consuming them in mere instants.
Expecting her daughter’s attack, Anastasia dived for the floor the instant Natasha jumped, landing behind Ryker and his sad excuse for shifters to protect herself…
I wasn’t so lucky.
A sizzling feather shot straight toward my heart. It crashed against my chest, and I braced for the agony, wishing I had let the Beast take over me. Time slowed while I watched the deathly fire flare to life along my body, creating a hungry wave that swiftly engulfed my entire form without mercy.
The pain never came.
Blue light spread over my bond tattoo, extending along my entire arm and making it pulse with protective power. TheEternal Blazeswayed on its way off me like a wave retreating from its shore.
Are you fucking kidding me?!
All this time, the bond tattoo had been meant to protect me from Natasha’sEternal Blaze. All she had to do was activate it. The feeling of her touch before we entered the mountain returned, spreading her love through my being as the fire swept over me and left, not even trying to consume me.
Time resumed real fucking fast when Natasha landed and tumbled to the floor—unable to fully stand on her injured leg.
A roar tore free from my throat when I saw Ryker lunge for Natasha—the bastard was unharmed.
Shifting into my Beast, I rammed into him at full force, sending him flying across the cave until he slammed into the far wall—cracking it with his head.
His Hunters had shifted, but their wolves couldn’t stop the blue fire from raging over them and taking their lives.
Vampire screeches, screams, and growls reverberated all around us while several bodies thrashed on the floor or against the walls. The blaze purposedly made its way over them, and it was almost like it knew they deserved to die vengefully slow, prolonging their pain.
Someone was tossed across the room by André, his venom protecting him, and I quickly realized that although the majority of the cult-following Vampires were burning, quite a few hadn’t been touched by the attack.
