My laugh is deeper this time, a rich sound that surprises even me. I haven’t felt this light in a long time.
“Are you telling me you haven’t been kissed like that before?”
An ache builds in my chest when she shakes her head. “Never.”
“That right there, little devil, is an absolute sin.” I trace her mouth with my thumb, loving the way she leans into my touch. “These lips were made for worshiping.”
Chapter 14
Leni
All thoughts of why my mystery man went quiet for the past two weeks are silenced as he captures my lips again, kissing me until I’m completely breathless and dizzy with desire.
I’ve never been a fan of kissing—it’s too intimate. In fact, I haven’t kissed anyone since Dylan. The two men I played with at Euphoria were more interested in fucking my mouth than kissing it, but it never bothered me before. Being with those men was nothing more than sexual exploration, and while I thought that’s what this was going to be, it’s become something more.
The moment his lips touched mine tonight, my thoughts turned to static, and all logic flew out the window. This man doesn’t just kiss. He claims.
I can’t get enough, so when he pulls away, I only give us a brief moment to catch our breath before I’m dragging him back to me. A surprised grunt slips from his throat, but he doesn’t hesitate to deepen the kiss. He doesn’t rush, his lips caressing mine in the perfect balance of want and need, like I’m something precious to be revered. Our surroundings blur into nothingness as I lose myself, hypnotised by his kiss.
Breathing heavily when we part again, my lips tingle in the most delicious way, and my body feels like it’s about to spontaneously combust. There’s an electric current running underneath my skin that intensifies as he runs his strong, masculine fingers up and down my arms in a soft, lingering touch.
I shiver, closing my eyes as I melt into his sculpted body. Once my breathing returns to a somewhat normal cadence, I tilt my head so I can gaze up at him through my lashes. His whiskey eyes are dark with lust, and my body flushes with heat.
“What are you thinking, little devil?” he asks, his low timbre causing a fluttering in my stomach.
“That I’ve been missing out with this kissing thing.” I run my tongue over my lips, savouring the taste of him. “It’s better than sex.”
He chuckles, his body vibrating from the sound. “If that’s the case, you’ve been doing it wrong.”
A small squeak escapes me as his hands drop to my waist, and he lifts me. My arms and legs instinctively wrap around him, and we both moan as the impressive bulge in his pants rubs against my aching core.
He carries me to the bed and lays me down before crawling up beside me. I reach for the button on his pants, but his hands still mine.
“Hold up, little devil,” he says, leaning in to press his lips to mine. “We don’t have to rush into this.”
A sting of rejection washes over me, and I pull away.
“Hey.” He grips my chin gently, forcing me to meet his gaze. “I’m not turning you down. I’m just taking things slow. I haven’t slept with anyone other than my ex-wife in nineteen years.”
My stomach dips at the sadness in his voice. “What happened between you?”
“She cheated on me,” he says, his finger tracing over the bottom half of my face, everywhere uncovered by my mask.
“I’m sorry,” I whisper.
His lips curl into a soft smile. “It’s been over for years.”
“Not for you,” I say, reading between the lines.
A heavy sigh escapes his lips as his eyes meet mine. “You’re young. You don’t need my level of fucked up in your life.”
I’m not stupid. I can hear the finality in his words. Despite the insane chemistry between us, this is a one-time deal. While I should feel hurt, the defeated tone in his voice makes me want to help him forget, even if it’s only for tonight.
“Last I checked we met at a sex club, not on a dating app.” I sit up and move to straddle his waist, my hands drifting to the buttons on his shirt.
“You don’t need to?—”
“Shh.” I press my lips to his to silence him. “We’re both consenting adults. I’m looking for some fun, and you’re looking to move on. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
