Graham, Demitri, Jason, David, and I are all lounging around in the living room. I have a perfect view from the chair I'm sitting in to the front window of the guest house. There is a giggle coming from Graham’s phone, and I just shake my head.
“Do you have the guest house camera pulled up?” David asks.
“Yup.” Graham just lets out a chuckle.
“Ya’ll, what if I just give in to David?”Molly’s drawl comes through the speaker on the phone.
Looking up at David, and he has the biggest shit-eating grin on his face. I hope for his sake that Molly finally gives in.
“What do I need to do? Go hunt down her husband?” He groans.
“Grand gestures and all that jazz.” Graham laughs.
“All she can do is say no.” I try to comfort him, but it’s not working. Forcing myself to stop playing with the ring box in my pocket, to focus on my friends.
“Is that why you have been playing with that ring box all night, Cal?” Demitri questions.
“How in the fuck?” I just stare at him.
“I carried mine around for a while before we actually proposed. Trying to feel out if I was doing the right thing.”
“And?” I can feel my eyebrows raise, just waiting for his answer.
“Well, seeing as you were at our wedding, what do you think?” Demitri just laughs.
“True. Do you guys want to see the ring I have?”
Jason jumps up from the couch like a girl who can’t wait to see her best friend's new engagement ring.
“Let me see!” We all just laugh at him. I seriously appreciate him breaking the tension that has filled the room.
Pulling the ring box out of my pocket, I glance quickly over to the window to make sure that the girls are still in the pool house. Opening the box, a little light turns on, allowing the diamonds to sparkle. It is a cushion-cut diamond with a halo of smaller diamonds around it, with two bands that cross each other. The moment I saw it in the ring case, I knew that was the one.
“You did good, Little Bro.” Graham pulls me into a bro hug and slaps my back.
“When are you asking her?” Jason asks.
“On the cruise.”
“And we will have the house done and ready to move in when you are back from the cruise.” Graham gives me a goofy smile, but I know he is excited for me.
This is the start of forever.
CHAPTER 50
KYRA
The last month and a half have been spent getting things squared away with The Blushing Bean. I have officially quit my job at the dealership, not exactly what I wanted to do until the shop was opened. But Callum said my time was better spent here, and he can handle taking care of us.
His house build is going well next door; I have had no input in it, but I have a feeling Nyx has been helping. She keeps asking me weird questions and telling me they are redoing their house, but the vibes are so not her. Callum said when it’s done, he will move in there, and I can stay in the guest house until I’m ready. But I don’t think I want to be away from him, even if it’s only across the field.
Girl, you got it bad.
“Oh, hush,” I say to myself as I finish placing these few books on the shelf.
I have to head home soon because our flight leaves first thing in the morning for Orlando. It’s been years since I’ve been on a plane, and I am terrified. The store is almost done, and we should be able to open next month. Devil Dog and CaptainMontgomery were able to help push through my wine and beer license.
My pocket vibrates, and I pull my phone out and see a FaceTime call coming in from Cal.
