And tying her to a bed again was much more appealing than handcuffing her to the bars of the cell.

When I didn't respond, she tried again. "You'll be here all night, right? That's why you're dressed like that? So, you'll be able to protect me if anything happens." She took a few steps closer, until she was so close, I could've reached out and touched her. "Please, Tristan."

Against my better judgement, I gave in. "Alright. Just for tonight," I finally conceded. "But if you try to run, Luna, Iwillfind you."

Luna's face flooded with relief, and she threw her hands up, gesturing for me to stop talking. "I won't! I swear. I won't cause any trouble, I promise."

I nodded, hoping I wouldn't regret this moment of weakness. "You'll sleep in my room with me. In my bed." The mattress was large. I could tie her to one side so there'd be no chance of her accidentally touching me during the night. It was for her own safety more than my peace of mind.

Something flared in her eyes, but it was gone again before I could decipher what it was. Desire? Fear?

"I thought I could just crash on the couch or something."

"No."

"But that's…I didn't mean I wanted to…"

"Didn't want to what?"

She wouldn't meet my eyes. "Nothing."

"I need to do some work in my office first. You can come sit in there with me until I'm finished. It won't take long." I wasn't about to let her out of my sight.

"Okay."

After a stop back at the cell so she could use the bathroom and get her phone to text her brother, Luna followed me silently back down the hall to the small home office. I sat down at my desk and woke up my laptop while she curled up in the armchair in the corner with her phone and typed out a text.

I tried to focus on what I was doing, but my gaze kept drifting to the woman across the room. Entranced, I watched her read her brother's response, emotions easily flitting across her face, the corners of her sweet lips lifting in a small smile as she answered him.

"How is your brother?" I asked.

Startled, her eyes flew to mine. "Um. He's fine."

I didn't really give a shit about Logan. But I found it interesting to watch the way her face became animated when she talked to him. Almost like a little girl.

Something dark and twisted wormed its way through my gut as she went back to staring at her phone, and I nearly took the damn thing away from her and smashed it into the wall. I wanted her attention onme. All of it. But that wasn't acceptable behavior. Of course, neither was locking her into a cell.

Once I made sure the discreet cameras I'd planted while I was gone were up and running, I closed my laptop and stood. "Are you ready?"

Luna, I assumed, said goodnight to her little brother and stood, waiting for me to lead the way. It made me suspicious, this unusual compliance of hers, and I searched her face carefully for any signs of deception, but she was good at putting on a mask when needed. I hated that she felt she needed to do it with me, but I didn't force her to expose herself. Not just yet.

My pulse kicked up as we left the office and walked down the hall to my bedroom. Having her in my private space felt dangerously intimate. Even more so than having my face between her legs. The cuffs that were still in my pocket bounced against my thigh, and I imagined her spread eagle on my bed, completely naked, her wrists and ankles secured to the posts. A buffet of soft skin and wet warmth laid out just for me.

Blood rushed to my cock as anticipation quickened my breath. No matter how tired I was, I couldn't seem to get enough of this woman.

Luna stopped again near the door to her room. "I just want to grab something to sleep in."

"You won't need it."

Her eyes flew to mine. "I think I've changed my mind. I'm just going to stay in here tonight."

"You can sleep wherever you'd like, Luna. But know that the cell won't save you fromme."

"But…"
