I come so hard I roar like a dragon letting the world know.

ChapterTwenty-Seven

HEIDI

Ramses and I do the walk of shame. After he makes love to me for a second and third time, calmer but equally as intense. And after he makes sure I’m okay.

My panties are ruined, but I drew the line at his request that I walk through the house naked, so his brothers could see how well he’d treated me. One day, sure, I’ve got no problem wearing his come like a badge of honour, but not today.

Kai’s kind of okay when we round the corner together. Darius is not. He’s fuming.

Ramses tucks me under his arm, turns me to his chest and covers my ears so I don’t have to listen to Darius all but screaming at his brother.

“Don’t you ever fucking block the door again, Ramses,” he barks. The noise is ugly, and while he’s entitled to it, I squeeze Ramses once before I walk towards his brother.

He nabs me, his eyes panicked. “Hey, I’m okay, Darius.”

He sits me up on the island bench, his arms on either side of my legs as he cages me in. I guess he thinks we need to discuss ground rules. Or he needs reassurance.

I run my nails over his head, while he leans into each scratch, his head moving to where he wants a tickle, his eyes haven’t stopped trying to eviscerate his brother.

“Stop being a dick. Ramses wouldn’t hurt me,” I interrupt his silence. His anger falls away when he looks at me. I even get a wink and a quick kiss before he turns and lifts his top lip at Ramses who looks way too pleased with himself.

The last few days, I’ve seen first-hand how they bicker. It doesn’t take much provocation and they’re yelling and shoving at each other. But the second their anger or frustration burns out, they’re back to being solid.

“Dare,” I call his name, and he stops glaring at Ramses and turns to look at me innocently.

“Yes, little moon?” He talks quietly. He is a man of contradiction and mystery, that’s for sure.

“If you’ve finished, I wanted us all to have a chat.”

“About?”

“Will you let me up?”

“No. You can still talk from here though.” He grins, flicking his eyebrows up.

I shake my head before I go to slide out from under him, but he’s quick. “Heidi,” he warns, a low deep rumble filling the space between us, as his scent gets thicker, giving me another sign I might be pushing too far.

Or maybe not. Instead of going forward, I smooch backwards, crab crawling. Thanks to my booty shorts, I move like I’m covered in butter, pretty much shooting out of his arms and over the side of the island bench. I very nearly go ass over tit, but I somehow spin and land on my feet with the bench now separating us.

He stands ramrod straight, his eyes nearly black. But it’s not in anger. I think I just turned the giant freak on.

I sniff the air for confirmation, and get it.

Which makes me laugh, before he laughs too.

“Righto.” He grins. “Tell us your news.”

Knowing I made a point about doing what I want, I lean back next to Kai where he is standing against the kitchen sink.

“I need to go back pretty soon. Back to reality,” I start, and I get a flutter of nerves, but a glance at them and it disappears. “How are we going to do this?”

Ramses starts to say something, but he stops. His head tipping slightly before his posture and mood changes. He looks over at me for a brief moment and I want to pretend I can’t see the conflict in his eyes. Without a word, he walks off to answer a ringing phone.

It’s been so freaking peaceful not being interrupted by the rest of the world. I’ve kept in touch a couple of times during the day with the Scorned Girls and Douglas, but everything is manageable, no fires needing extinguishing.

Ramses’ phone ringing for some reason sets off a twist of alarm in my belly.
