I guess they both feel a dip in my mood, and I get a small kiss from Noah on my shoulder, followed by Gabe’s version of being subtle—he throws his leg over my butt, bringing us closer together. We take a few minutes to read over my proposal, which in a rather large nutshell is to sue the government for negligence using the Tort Claims Act to counter their own laws where they can’t be held accountable. But I’m also taking it further by filing a humanitarian breach to the international court of law. Even if I lose, every person around the world will be aware of the way our government has been manipulating omegas and lying to society for decades. But the flip side is it also means this has the potential to be our life for years, which is the only sticking point; I’d prefer to be living in the present instead of the past, but I also don’t want to be constantly wondering when they’re coming for us next.
“Explain your legal advice,” Noah demands. And I know it’s not criticism, it’s his analytical mind taking over to triple check everything.
“Have you got your phone or laptop because I’ll send it over. Once you’ve had a chance to read it, you can tell me,” I offer, because I know King & King have gone all out. Not only did the best legal firm in the country employ the most brilliantly minded lawyers available, but they also scoured through their rivals’ interns to ensure they had the most forward thinkers around. Don’t get me wrong, I paid through the nose for the privilege.
Noah reaches down and gets his laptop, and then Gabe turns his laptop and types a series of commands. “Making a shareable server for us, that way he can access everything and then make notes without buggering up the original advice, and your system.”
I lean my head against his arm and watch what he does. Half of it makes sense, the rest looks like double Dutch. A few seconds later, Noah makes a small noise, indicating he got what he was after.
“In all honesty, I think I have a decent chance of winning, or I wouldn’t have bothered.”
Noah rolls me over, so he’s looking down on me before he drops a hard kiss on my lips. “You will win.”
“Hope so. And then I want to be left alone so we can do whatever it is we want.”
“Have you thought about safeguarding your business?”
I take a deep breath in before replying, “Yeah. I need your signature, and then I can finalise the Directors.”
“Lennon, you don’t need to…”
“Yeah, I do, Noah. I won’t risk what I have worked my ass off for, for the sake of pride. I come out as an omega and one of the points of contention raised by King & King, is that in certain cases, if deemed by the government, they can take my assets and put them in caretaker mode. The thing is, that during that time, they have full discretion to act however they see fit. And history to date suggests if they treat my business and assets like they’ve treated me, I’ll be fucked.”
Noah and Gabe hiss before getting all alpha-ed out, covering me in a cloud full of their claiming scent. “I’m good, I’m here with you both.” The honey peppered air is so thick and sweet, I start coughing and sneezing a few times until I manage to whack them both. “Settle down, we still have to do afternoon tea with Bailey.”
Gabe, though, isn’t yet done marking me and pulls my t-shirt up and gives me a huge ass hickey in the middle of my tummy. “OW!” I squeal before the both of us look, at his mark.
He chuckles, making me laugh too. “You’re an idiot,” I say, rolling on to my stomach so we can get back to work. “Now, let me change the forms.”
Clicking through my files, I find the ones I need and open them up, changing Bailey’s name out as beneficiary and putting all four of my alphas in, with Alpha Noah Teo as our head. They both help me with a few of the details, and after lots of reassuring kisses and touches—for them, not me—I press file.
Gabe snatches the laptop and proceeds to do something highly illegal by hacking through the Company Register and Director Management Board and approving the addition of beneficiaries and directors to my business, even backdating it to match the date we became pack.
“I don’t want to know how you do that,” Noah comments, but he doesn’t stop watching intently, despite the advice from King & King sitting on his screen waiting for him to review.
“True, you don’t. Just focus on how fucking lucky it is I know this shit. I promise though, I’ll try to curb my hacktivist ways, once our omega is safe and snug as a bug coming on Pack Teo cock, without the dregs of society trying to steal her from us.”
“So, never?”
“Nah, Len, you’re fucking only getting started with what you’re going to do. Before this is finished, you’ll get the apology you deserve.”

LENNON
Sliding open the kitchen door, the first thing I see is Bailey. She’s sitting on the floor in a chic, linen pants suit, her eyes glued on me. Her goddamn chin wobbles.
“Bailey,” is all I manage to get out before she leaps and the both of us crash into a side table. “I’m okay. I can’t talk about him.”
She literally squeezes so tight I have to tap against her shoulder to release me so I can breathe. When she pulls away, I think she’s got darker circles under her eyes than I do.
“What happened?” She whispers when she makes me sit back on the floor next to her. She links our hands together and stares straight ahead. Luckily, because she has this magical ability to cry but she also knows I’m not a fan of crying.
“Do you want the whole story or just what happened to my boy?” I dip my chin to my chest to stop the onslaught of emotions threatening to burst out of me.
She swings around and glares at me before she reaches over and pulls all my hair up in a bun to match hers. Then she crawls over the floor, coming back with two massive, and I mean huge, white, and grey furry blankets. Pushing me out the way, she lays one on the ground, patting it for me to climb back on, and then she buries us under the other blanket. It’s our thing. We hide from the world and spill secrets when we get together.
The only glow in our cavern comes from the kitchen light above us, but it’s enough.
