“Yes, a couple of times, years ago.”
“Can you tell me how to get there?”
“No – I don’t remember – all I know is that it was somewhere outside of Florence!”
“Then I guess I’ll have to ask your daddy,” I said with a smirk.
“What do you want with Dario Rosolini?!”
“He killed my fuckin’ father in San Vittore,” I snarled. “And now I’m going to killhim.”
Luciano stared at me like I was a spaceman from Mars.
“That’swhat all this is about?!” he asked incredulously.
“No, notjustthat. But it’s a big fuckin’ part of it. Now… everything you’ve told me better be right. Because if even a littlepartof it is wrong, I’m going to have my guys do everything I said I was going to do to your wife and kids, andworse. You understand?”
“Y-yes,” Luciano said.
“Good. Now get dressed.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re going to get us into your father’s place.”
He got a sick look on his face. “What?!”
“You’re going to get us in there. Where’s your cell phone?”
Luciano looked worried. “…in my jacket. Over there.”
I jerked my head at Ciro, who searched for the phone until he found it.
He brought it to me, and I tossed it on the bed beside Luciano. “You got the number for your dad’s security team?”
“Y-yes…”
“The front gate of the house?”
“Yes.”
“Good. I want you to text them. Tell them you’ll be dropping by the house in an hour and you’re gonna spend the night.”
“Why would I do that?”
I pointed at Romeo’s tablet. “I can think of afewgood reasons.”
“No, I mean, Ineverspend the night at my parents’ house! Not without my wife and children. The guards will be suspicious!”
“Don’t say anything until somebody asks you – but if they do, tell them your wife found out about your mistress. Tell them you had a fight, and you’re going to stay at your father’s place because it’s easier than bringing all your bodyguards to a hotel in the middle of the night.”
“I wouldn’t leave my house to – ”
I pointed my gun at him. “Just fuckin’ do it.”
“I would normallycallthem for something like this.”
“What, so you can warn them? No thanks. Just text them, keep it simple, and I want to see it before you send it.”
