I smiled incredulously and shook my head.
One minute I was worried about freakinghimout…
And the next he was saying,Let’s have three kids together.
“Come on,” he said playfully. “Shake on it.”
I gave him some amused side-eye, but I shook his hand.
“With an option for a fourth,” he snuck in, then yanked his hand away.
“Hey!” I cried out, laughing.
“Too late! You shook on it!”
“I didn’t agree to that!”
He fake-grumbled. “Alright, alright… three kids. But six dogs.”
“Six dogs?!”
“Yup.”
“Who has room for six dogs?!”
“We’ll be out in the country. Someplace beautiful,” he reminded me. “Plenty of room.”
I smiled in spite of myself. He was using my own daydream against me.
“That’s two dogs per kid,” I pointed out.
“It’ll teach them responsibility.”
“Uh-huh. You knowyou’regoing to end up feeding them and taking care of them, right?”
“It’ll be okay,” he said with a shrug.“Wehad six dogs. Although there were six of us, so it was just one dog per kid.”
“You have five brothers and sisters?!”
“Yup. My parents have a place out in Montepulciano, and all my brothers and sisters live near them. Well, my youngest sister still liveswiththem – she’s 17. But the others all got married and live in the area.”
“What do they do?”
“My father and brothers all work at the same vineyard. My other sister works at a small hotel outside Montepulciano. You should meet them.”
My heart skipped a beat. “Uh…”
“What? Scared?” he teased me.
“I’m not scared,” I protested. “But… I mean, this is our firstdate.”
“I move fast.”
“Apparently so!”
“So do you. I mean, we’ve already had our first kinky adventure in the Boboli Gardens – ”
“Giorgio!” I whispered, then looked around to see if anyone had heard.
