Finally, once my orgasm was dying away, and her hand stopped moving over her clit, we kissed… long, and deep, and slow.

“You sure you don’t want to quit your job?” I teased her.

She grinned, her eyes back to that sleep, half-lidded look of fading bliss. “I’m thinking about it.”

After the shower, we got out and toweled off. While Emilia used a hair dryer in the bathroom, I dressed over by the bed.

My clothes were rumpled all to hell from lying on the ground all night.

Can’t go into work looking like THIS.

The Rosolinis wanted all their foot soldiers to dress sharply. We were, after all, a reflection on the family.

But at least there weren’t any stains on my jacket from when I dropped it in the alley during the fight with Maurizio.

Maurizio.

I wondered what that asshole was doing right now.

If he was in an ER somewhere in Florence…

Or whether he’d taken the train back to Milan.

Once I was dressed, I walked into the bathroom behind Emilia.

She stood there with a towel wrapped around her body, looking sexy as hell as she blow-dried her hair.

I, on the other hand, looked like hell. My clothes were wrinkled and limp from lying on the floor all night.

Emilia saw me in the mirror, smiled, and switched off the blow dryer. “You look like somebody about to do the walk of shame.”

I grinned. “No shame about it. But I do need to get back home and change.”

“…oh,” she said, looking disappointed.

“I’ll do it after I walk you to work,” I reassured her. “I have until noon before I have to show up.”

“Don’t be silly – I’m fine going alone. You took care of everything last night… right?” she asked warily.

“Yeah, but…” I stood behind her and started kissing her bare shoulder. Her skin was still dewy from the shower. “…I don’t want to miss taking my girlfriend to work the first morning that she’s my girlfriend.”

Emilia giggled, then swatted me away. “Okay, okay, fine – just stop that.”

“Why?”

“Because if you keep it up, we’llneverleave my place.”

“That’s not such a bad thing,” I said as I continued to kiss her neck.

“Go! Leave! Or you don’t get to take me to work!” she said, shooing me out.

“Fine,” I laughed, then left her alone to get ready.
