Arching my back, I pleaded for more, practically whimpering as he manipulated and brought pleasure to every cell in my system.
“Fuck,” I hissed out. “Don’t stop, please.”
Cap’s head came down to my ear, the bulge in his jeans rubbing against my leg. “Do you feel what you do to me, Ruby? I’ve never been this goddamn hard before. It’s all because of you.”
It was fucking amazing, the feel of his hands, the way my body hummed in delight. It was a craving I didn’t know I had. Not until now. Not until I felt him.
There wasn’t a single thought going on in my head other than gratification, wishing for that big O, I’d been so lost without the last few months. His fingers entered inside of me, and as he fucked my mouth with his tongue, biting and sucking at my lips, his fingers pushed in and out of me, driving me wild with desire.
“Yes,” I hissed out. “Yes, Chase, just like that.”
Everything stopped.
The kissing. The touching. The fucking passion.
His hand disappeared from between my thighs. Even his warmth left me as Cap scrambled to his feet, putting at least ten feet between us as he stood across the room, in both shock and disgust.
“I don’t know why I even thought for a second you were into this,” he shouted. “I’ll never be good enough for you. Not as long as he’s around.”
In a fit of rage, he grabbed the picture of me and Chase skiing, his hands gripping the edge of the frame, ready to hurl it across the room. But it was like he psyched himself out of it, because he calmly set the photo back down, and walked straight out of my house. Leaving me alone and stewing in my guilty conscience.
“Cap, please! Don’t go.”
He didn’t turn around. Hell, he didn’t even tell me where he was going. He just up and walked out, the silence taking over the room.
I royally fucked up, and there was no taking back that innocent Freudian Slip. If my subconscious wanted to do damage it did… ruining whatever this was between us forever.
He didn’t return until two hours later, and I was shocked he left me alone for that long. It wasn’t like him, but it looked like he needed to cool off, and I was just thankful he returned, even if he wouldn’t say a word to me.
I wanted to beg him to talk this out with me, but the second we got backstage, all hell broke loose. Zodiac looked pissed off, immediately charging toward Cap.
“Where the hell have you been?”
Cap squared his shoulders back. “I’ve been at the front like you asked me to be.”
“Well, Misery’s not here yet. We’re thirty minutes from show time and the lead singer isn’t even here.”
“Have you tried calling her?”
Sorrow stepped forward. “Numerous times. I don’t know where she is. I’m worried.” She looked over at Agony and Affliction, both men equally worried. Her bottom lip was suckedbetween her teeth, mouth set in a frown. “Her and Chester haven’t been getting along all that well lately, especially since it was Misery who specifically asked for Bull to be here.”
Bull, who was nowhere around, didn’t want to be here, but he came because the club requested him to.
Zodiac’s fists clenched. “What are you saying, Sorrow?”
“He’s hit her once.”
“Twice,” Agony reminded her. “The second time he got his ass beat by me and Affliction.”
Affliction nodded, his shark teeth bared in a menacing way. “I would’ve killed him if we weren’t contractually bound to the bastard right now.”
“We can send someone out to find her. Do you have her location?” Zodiac asked.
Sorrow checked her phone. “Oh! It says she’s here.”
“I’m here!” Misery shouted, suddenly appearing backstage, along with Chester who looked incredibly pissed, and a little girl. “I’m here,” she repeated, huffing out a few quick breaths.
“Finally!” Sorrow shouted. “What took you so long?”
