“See you guys tomorrow,” Ruby said, sniffing as she started the short trek to my bike.

I had barely made it two feet before Zodiac stopped me. “Cap, I know what you’re doing is part of your job, but I can see this getting pretty deep. Be careful, okay? I don’t want your heart to break any more than it already has.”

My head swiveled in her direction, frowning when I saw her reach for her helmet. He was right… I was juggling fire right now.

“It’s too late for that, Prez,” I stated, backing away. “I’m already too far gone.”

Chapter Twenty

“This is crazy,” I exclaimed, holding onto Cap’s cut the best I could as he navigated through an already lively crowd. We were only thirty minutes away from the band taking the stage, but apparently, there was a problem, and Cap was needed backstage immediately. He left Aries to man the front gates, while he pulled me with him through the crowd.

“Cap, what’s going on?”

He’d been acting weird since last night. But what happened wasn’t his fault. It was mine… I led him on, and now he was trying his best to stay neutral.

The way he gripped my hand brought moments from last night to the forefront of my mind. The way those same hands explored my body, touching places I only let Chase touch me before.

It got out of hand. I let it go way too far, and now Cap was upset about it.

“Cap, stop for a second, please.”

He stopped mid step, turning to face me.

“I’m sorry about last night…” I started.

He shook his head, then grumbled, “I don’t have time for this right now, Ruby. They need me backstage.”

All I wanted was for him to talk to me, to accept my apology, but he had barely acknowledged me all night.

“Cap, please.”

“I said drop it, Ruby. Now’s not the time.”

My bottom lip jutted out, his gruff tone making me nervous. We were getting close to the end of our contract, but the way he was acting wasn’t like him at all. But after last night… I understood his frustrations.

Our eyes met for a single moment on that couch. He wetted those luscious lips with a single swipe of his tongue, while my whole body fidgeted with excitement. I’d tasted those lips earlier in the night, and now I was thirsting for them—starving even.

“Stop looking at me like that, Ruby.”

“Like what?” I asked innocently.

“Like that! That right there. You’re nibbling on your lip and looking at me all seductively. I’m doing my best to stay professional here, and you’re making it so difficult.”

Moving over the couch, I found myself climbing onto his lap, feeling the hardness of his erection grow between my thighs. “Maybe I don’t want you to be professional, Nicholas. Maybe I want you to be dark, depraved, and dirty.”

Guiding his hands under my shirt, he let out a soft moan as he felt my hardened nipple beneath his palm, budding just for him.

“Ruby, please. I can’t hold myself back much longer. I’m falling hard for you, and I know you’re not ready for that.”

Rubbing my body against him, I pushed my chest even further, toying with his willpower as I started rocking back and forth.

“Be bad for me.”

His masculine arm, tatted and rippling with muscles, went around my waist, bringing me closer until our mouths melded as one, and our tongues were clashing in a dangerous liaison behind our teeth. Somewhere in the madness, my top came off, tits kissed by the chilled air, as his mouth dove in to sucka nipple in. Moaning, I couldn’t stop myself from digging my fingers into his hair, begging him to keep going.

“We should stop,” he whispered, his mouth barely moving from my nipple.

But the greedy part of me wanted more. I wanted all of him. He maneuvered me until he was resting on top of me, his hand finding its way into my panties until he was toying with my clit, rubbing the most glorious circles I’d ever felt in my life.
