“There’s a timer on it. The whole thing is gonna blow in ten minutes.”

“Fuck!” he growled. “You’re kidding me?”

“No, it’s there. And Leo’s back at the clubhouse. None of us know how to disarm a bomb.”

Every single man looked at Scorpio with sympathetic eyes, knowing that the only way to keep everyone safe was to leave the bike and get the fuck out of the Artillery clubhouse.

“If I had to guess, the phone is probably connected to the bike somehow. That’s why Beretta’s so smug about getting away with this. He knows that in order for us to leave here alive, we have to leave everything else behind.”

“Here, let me see the phone, Juliette,” Bull demanded.

She handed him the phone, and he examined it. “Yeah, it’s got a self-destruct mechanism on it.” He went to turn it back on, but the whole thing started to shake in his hand. “Fuck, get down.”

Everybody dropped to the ground, just as the tiny little electronic exploded.

“Damn it,” she growled. “That was my only evidence of what he did to your sister.”

“Beretta’s a crafty asshole, I’ll give him that,” Scorpio said, moving towards his bike. “Do you think there’s any way we can get it off? It doesn’t look like it’s attached very good.”

Bull dropped to the ground again. “Maybe. But I have no flipping clue how to dismantle it.”

“Call Leo. Maybe he can walk you through it.”

Cap was on the phone within seconds, dialing Leo’s number.

Cap rolled his eyes, looking annoyed as fuck. “Look, asshole, I know you’re grumpy, but this shit is important. They attached a bomb to Scorpio’s bike, and we only have like eight minutes to dismantle it.”

“Five,” Bull shouted from the floor.

“Okay, five minutes. Yeah, okay, okay,” Cap muttered, turning the phone away from him, and handing it to Bull. “He needs to see what’s going on.”

Leo’s voice filled the line. “Well, it’s not a big bomb,” he stated. “But it would blow you fuckers up if it goes off.”

“Okay, asshole, so how do we dismantle it?”

“Honestly, whoever stuck it on there didn’t do a good job. If someone had balls of steel, they could probably ride the bike out of there and kick it off before it ever had a chance to blow. But I don’t think any of you are that brave.”

Every man looked at each other, but none of them volunteered.

“Just leave the bike, Scorpio. I know it was your father’s, but it’s not worth losing your life over,” Juliette exclaimed. “We only have minutes left, and we need to make sure everyone gets out of here before it’s too late.”

Scorpio looked at his bike longingly, but nodded his head. “You’re right, Juliette. The bike’s not worth losing any of you over. Come on, let’s get out of here before the stupid thing blows.” He walked over to his father’s bike and touched it with his hand. “I’m sorry, Galaxy, but my father would’ve done the same thing.”

He took a hesitant step back.

“Three minutes!” Bull exclaimed, jumping up from the floor. “Let’s get the fuck out of here.”

Every man in the room quickly headed for the exit. Every man but me. The second they cleared the door, I was on the beautiful machine, roaring it to life.

“DILLON, NO!” Scorpio snapped, his head appearing in the door.

“I can do it, Scorpio.”

“No. It’s not worth your life.”

“It’s my fault the bike was taken in the first place. You already lost it once. I’m not going to let you lose it again.” Before he could protest, I raced past him, steering the bike out the front door and straight to the compound gates.

“Dillon, no!” Zodiac hollered after me.
