“After I lost Pollux and Castor, I returned to their compound with the bike, only to have Beretta turn me away. He refused to keep his part of the deal. When I tried to fight him, his club grabbed me, then threw me in a van and took me to that spot where you found me. I don’t know much about their compound, other than it’s heavily guarded.”

“Maybe that’s where Juliette can distract them,” Zodiac suggested. “She can show up with a warrant for Shotgun because of the video, and we can use her as a shield while the rest of us slip inside, grab the bike, and rescue Dillon’s sister.”

“I don’t like that idea,” Scorpio grumbled.

“Why not? It’s kind of perfect,” Scales said, talking for the first time. I’ve never really had a lot of interaction with the old man because he was always away from the club lately. Though I did notice he showed up for meetings.

“Because…” I saw the hesitation in Scorpio’s eyes as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “Because she’s pregnant.”

Everyone gasped.

“Pregnant? How? When? You guys haven’t been together that long,” Pollux asked in complete confusion.

“All it takes is one time without a condom, butthead.”

“Congratulations,” Zodiac said quickly. “But also, what the fuck?”

Scorpio grinned, his smile widening. “What can I say? I got a soft spot for hot little cops.”

“We’re going to need Juliette for this, Scorpio. I know it’s going to be dangerous, but she is a strong woman—I think she can take it.”

“Juliette wouldn’t let you go alone anyway. Not now when she knows who killed her father,” Cap added.

Scorpio nodded. “Yeah, now that she has a name to go with who shot her father, I’m sure she’d move heaven and hell just to get to him.”

“Then it’s settled. Juliette and her deputies can take the front while the rest of us slip in through the back and take what’s rightfully ours,” Archer agreed. He turned toward Bull. “I think you and I are going to have to be the muscle of this operation.”

“Nothing is going to get past me,” Bull exclaimed, punching his fist into his palm.

Archer turned to Zodiac. “I know how much you hate guns, Zodiac, but I think this is one time where we’re going to need to shoot first and ask questions later.”

Zodiac nodded. “Agreed. As much as it pains me to say it, I think we’re going to have to start arming ourselves more and more with how Beretta and his boys have been acting.”

“Sometimes violence is the only way,” Leo chimed in, speaking up so everyone could hear him.

“It’s gotta be a club decision,” Zodiac announced. “It can’t be up to just me. All in favor of storming Beretta’s clubhouse and getting Scorpio’s bike back, say aye.”

“And to save my sister, too?” I questioned before any of them could answer.

“All in favor of storming Beretta’s clubhouse, saving Dillon’s sister, and getting Scorpio’s bike back, say aye.”

He looked at each of his men, focusing on Archer and working his way down the table until he reached Scorpio. Every man had no hesitancy in saying aye to agree to the plan, but now my sister’s fate laid in the hands of the man who I unknowingly betrayed.

His tired eyes met mine, and I held my breath, waiting for his answer.

“It took a lot of guts to come clean the way you did, Dillon. I don’t know what the future has in store for us, but I do know that we can do this together if we trust each other.”

“I didn’t trust you guys at first. It’s hard to trust bikers after what happened to me and Joey. But after spending these past few weeks with you, I’ve learned that if I was to trust anyone with mine and my sister’s life, it would be with you men sitting and standing in this room. I’ll do whatever it takes to get Joey and your bike back, Scorpio. Even if it means laying my life on the line in the process.”

“That’s all we can ask, Dillon,” Bull exclaimed, his massive hand knocking the wind out of me as he patted me on the back.

“We’re going to have to move now,” Zodiac exclaimed. “We don’t have time to plan this out. If Beretta knows that Dillon’s sister was feeding us information about the rally and who shot Juliette’s father, he’s going to work quickly to silence her. She doesn’t have much time, but we’ll do our best to intercept her before Beretta gets a chance to do something to her.”

My face fell. I knew that Joey’s fate wasn’t good, but hearing that made me realize just how little time she had left.

“Don’t worry, kid,” Fish exclaimed, placing a friendly hand on my back. “We’ll get your sister back.”

But as the club all rose to head into battle, I couldn’t fight the impending sense of doom that was washing over me. Something felt off, and I just hoped that I was leading us into battle instead of a slaughter.
