“What’s up?”
Lucas reached in his pocket and pulled out a ring box. Before his brother could utter a word, Lincoln shook his head emphatically.
Lucas glared at him with furrowed brows. “What? Why are you shaking your head? We love each other.”
“I don’t doubt that, but have Bella’s views about marriage changed?”
“What views about marriage? You think her first marriage turned her anti-marriage?”
“Ugh…yeah!” Lincoln scoffed.
Lucas’ eyes narrowed. He shoved the box back in his pocket. “I don’t even know why I asked you. You don’t know shit about relationships.”
Lincoln laughed and looked over at Donatella. “I don’t know, Big Bro. I think I’m doing pretty good.”
Taylor was wearing a smile as she walked over to them.
“What are you two over here talking about?”
Lincoln pulled her close and gave her a bear hug. “How are you, Baby Sis? I haven’t seen you since you had the baby. Where is my niece? I wanna meet her. I hear she’s got Mom’s eyes.”
Taylor laughed. “Your brother is still waiting on them to turn green, but it ain’t looking good.”
“Where is Princess Victoria?
Taylor slapped his arm. “Shhh!” She looked around the room, confusing the hell out of him.
“What is wrong with you, woman?”
“Every time someone says the baby’s name, Bella starts pouting and rolling her eyes. So, we’ve been calling her Vicky.”
Lincoln laughed. “She is definitely gonna have to get over that. Besides, she’s about to have bigger issues.” He smirked at Lucas. “Go on. Don’t be shy. Tell her what you got planned.”
His brother’s angry glare told him that if looks could kill, they’d be spreading his ashes.
“Go on. Show her the ring,” Lincoln pressed.
Taylor’s mouth flew open. She was surprised, but not necessarily in a good way. In fact, she seemed a bit horrified.
“You’re gonna asked Bella to marry you?” she asked in a hushed tone.
“That’s the plan,” Lucas muttered.
“Not here, in front of everybody? Maybe you should do it privately,” she urged.
“Why? So, you think she’s gonna say no too?”
Lincoln laughed when Taylor offered him a sad smile as if he’d already been turned down.
“Oh, ye of little faith. Bella is going to marry me. She loves me.”
“Whaaat’s love got to do… got to do with it?” Lincoln sang.
Without a word, Lucas walked away wearing a scowl. Taylor narrowed her eyes and pinched him on the arm.
“Ouch!”
“Stop teasing your brother and be supportive.” Her lips twitched as if she was trying her best to suppress laughter.
