The kiss went on for longer than I’d expected. Much more than a simple goodbye kiss between lovers. Almost a makeout. When one of my classmates told us to get a room, we broke apart.

Jamie was on his way into the classroom, sparing us a disgusted glower as he went. Good. Maybe that would make him forget about me entirely. I’d never had anyone fixate on me the way he had. It was unnerving. I wondered if I should start carrying pepper spray or something.

“Don’t sit anywhere near him,” Auryn said, slowly pulling away. “I’ll meet up with you later. Text me if he says a word to you.”

He sauntered away down the hallway, leaving me standing there staring after him with my jaw dropped. My head spinning. That had been a hell of a kiss.

As I entered the classroom with some of my classmates, I had to remind myself that it was all an act. A show for Jamie and nothing more. It wasn’t real.

Nothing about us was real.

CHAPTER ELEVEN

AURYN

Fuck, yes. That was the good stuff.

I fell back against the couch, closing my eyes as I savored that first hit of blow. Part of my after school routine. Dom sat next to me rolling a joint. I was surprised to see him without Noah attached at the hip. Those two didn’t spend much time apart these days.

After my last class of the day, I’d waited outside Ripley’s classroom. Once she emerged, I walked her to her car in the parking lot. Somehow, I’d resisted the urge to follow her home. I’d put on a little show for Jamie, making sure he saw me blatantly claim her. Still, it didn’t feel like enough.

I wondered if she was working tonight. Should I swing by? Would she want me to?

Next to me Dominik lit up the joint, taking a large toke before passing it to me. He bumped me with a hand, making me open my eyes.

“Where’s Noah?” I tucked the joint between my lips. “I’m surprised the two of you aren’t hanging all over each other like usual.”

“He’s spending some time with Damon tonight. I think he’s finally starting to embrace this whole becoming one of usthing.” Dom scratched his lightly stubbled chin before raking a hand through his dark hair. He fell back against the couch on the opposite side, sprawling out.

Damon Price and his best friend Noah Cunningham had recently joined the Graveyard Kings. A move that not all of us had been for, although circumstances had forced the issue. I’d been surprised when Rebel wanted to bring them on board. The two of them, along with their friends River and Colt, had been a constant pain in our asses for a long time. Of course River and Colt were dead now.

I suspected Rebel’s interest in recruiting Noah and Damon had been encouraged by Noah’s relationship with Dom. However, I knew my best friend well, and I knew that Rebel was most likely trying to keep them close and under his control.

“That’s good.” I filled my lungs with smoke before passing the joint back to Dom. “Better with us than against us.”

“What about you?” he smirked. “Why aren’t you with your girlfriend?”

“Very funny.” I leaned forward to snort another line of coke off the tray on the table. “You know she’s not really my girlfriend. Might want to use air quotes next time.”

“Yeah right. Since when have you ever worked this hard to keep another guy away from a girl? I’ve never known you to care before.” Dom puffed out a plume of smoke that drifted lazily above our heads. He eyed me with this knowing look. Like he knew something I didn’t.

I shot him a glare. “I do not appreciate that look you’re giving me, sir. Do advert your gaze.”

His laughter only antagonized me further. “What look? You mean the look of amusement at finally seeing you get yours? We’ve taken more than enough shit from you over the last year. It’s about time we get to dish it.”

“Joke’s on you,” I quipped. “There’s nothing to see here. Just helping out a potential fuck buddy. Doesn’t hurt to have a steady fling in the works. My dick talks, and I listen.”

Dom pulled out his phone, holding it up in front of me. “Hold on. Let me start recording, then you can say that again. I want to get this on video so I can play it back endlessly when you have to eat your words. You’ve never had a fuck buddy or a steady fling, dude. You’re a one and done kind of guy. Ripley must really be something if you want to go back for more.”

I shoved his phone away, muttering obscenities beneath my breath. Right then my own phone went off with a text message. I snatched it up from where it sat on the coffee table. My brow furrowed at the name on the screen. Olivia. Did I know an Olivia?

I opened the text to find a photo of a naked brunette pushing her tits toward the camera. Oh right. Olivia. There was a message along with the photo.

I’m still thinking about our night together. My roommate will be out late. Why don’t you come by so I can suck your huge cock? Then you can have me any way you want me.

The photo didn’t really do much for me. Vaguely I remembered the drunken night I’d shared with her a month or so ago after a graveyard party. One glance at Dom’s smirking face was all I needed to reply.

Send me the address. I’m on my way.
