At least I had my Reaper.

Reaper

“Speak,” I slammed my fist down on the table, looking out at the faces of men. I hadn’t been able to simmer the rage building inside of me since Brianna told me what she was hiding from. No one touched my baby girl.

“The meeting’s been put on hold, but Trojan was able to find the name of the silent partner. Some kid called Wiley Carter.”

I froze. As did Maverick and Chaos, who I’d told about the whole shit that went down with my daughter.

“How sure are you?”

Trojan looked up from his computer, a furrow in his brow. “One hundred percent.”

“You know him?” Animal asked.

“Yeah…what do we know about him?”

“Twenty year old kid, got in with the Ironborne at an early age, looks like he was into heavy drug peddling until he was brought in under Mannix’s dad, Thomas. Nothing reported since then. Seems they cleaned him up.”

“Or cleaned up his act so he didn’t get caught,” Chaos added.

“Shadow, think you can tail him?” I asked. He nodded his agreement.

“Trey didn’t come?” I asked Beast. He shook his head. Figures. I still had a long way to go with him, but at least I was getting somewhere with Brianna. One out of two ain’t too bad.

“We tried, Prez.”

“Trojan, stay back,” I said, dismissing everything else. Trojan shut his computer, sitting back in his chair, an air of suspicion in his eye. Once the door was closed after Maverick, I turned to him.

“I have a surprise visit from an Outlaw. Said his name was Wolf, and he was looking for his brother, Shamus Kerrigan. Didn’t know he’d passed on. Can you legitimise his claims? He said he knows Savage from the Ghost Rebels in Kilkenny.”

“Are you gonna call him or you want me to? I’ll dig around, see if the family link is there. Do you know Wolf’s birth name?”

I shook my head. “You know how it is. Trace back to Kerrigan.”

Shamus was good people. So if Wolf turns out to be his brother, I’d do what I could to help him.

Trojan nodded, grabbing up his laptop and heading outside. I pulled my phone free from my pocket. Sometimes Chapel wasthe only place, other than my secret waterfall spot, that I felt calm. When I took over for the old prez, there had been so many who didn’t think I deserved it. It was Pope who had made me sit in this seat, made me feel the power that came from the position. It held weight, just sitting in this chair, and I never took it for granted.

I found Rowan’s number and shot off a text.

How’s Brianna settling in?

ROWAN

She’s okay. Binge watching some weird TV show. Is church over?

Yeah. I’ll be up in five.

Putting my phone down on the table, I turned to the window. You had to stand up to look out of it, but I could see the beautiful sky. Sydney was putting on a beautiful day. Too bad I was locked inside, fixing shit.

Brianna threw a spanner in the works, I was still having Raf looked into, as well as Darian, but now with an added extra thrown into the mix, it was already looking like the Ironborne were working an angle that I didn’t like.

Mannix was new blood, taking over for his dad, but I knew it wasn’t a popular choice. Him being with Frankie was suspicious enough, but the way Ironborne kept coming up in conversation was setting me off. We had conversations to work together, but we were still antsy around each other. This wasn’t going to be easy.

The door opened and turned to see Rowan sneak in through the door before she closed it again.

“Rowan?”
