EJ answered, “No, we killed them all. Tank and Zane were intense, along with the guards you have on Ladybug. Jayden called the pack and since their Warriors attacked someone in Blue Moon’s territory, Alpha Roberts didn’t even protest.”
I snorted, “They are sending their people to be killed, and they don’t even care.” EJ confirmed “No, they don’t care. That Alpha has never had a reputation of caring for their people.” I asked, “Do we know if they are forgotten packs?”
EJ answered, “No, they aren’t.” Phil agreed, “EJ is correct, they are just assholes.” Gage supplied, “The Werewolf Council handles their affairs and sanctions are being handed down for what they did to discourage further issues.”
I sighed, “It’s too bad we can’t just take them out.” EJ told me, “I’ve told them if anyone else from their packs come it will be war. They seemed thoroughly terrified of that promise.” Toby snorted, “The shaking in the Alpha’s voice was concerning.”
Gage agreed, “It’s like Alpha blood has become cowardly and they react to it by overcompensating. Alpha’s are meant to protect their people, it’s almost like magic is lashing out and making them literal cowards.” Maybe.
EJ told me, “I gave Jayden our new patrols. Our cousin was impressed and plans to implement them. I had our trainers put out Melanie’s ideas. We included reports of how it’s working. A lot of packs are going to try it in the New Year.” I couldn’t help but be proud of my mate.
I sent a message to my Uncle Aiden that I needed to talk to him tomorrow. He agreed and said he’d find me. I wouldn’t be hard to find, and he knew that. Not that our family tended to be hard to find for each other, ever.
I caught back up on paperwork. There wasn’t too much since we were usually gone over the holiday. Most things were quiet until the pups started back to school. I was mostly occupied with looking into the pack members that were killed from Alpha Roberts pack.
All of those that died in Blue Moon’s territory were Warriors. Seasoned ones. They really did want to capture my mate. It infuriated both Oden and me. I called in Chason, Fowler, and KJ. Chason apologized immediately, “I’m sorry they got to the Muffin Luna.”
I replied, “Melanie ran off and she’s faster than the speed of light. You got there and defended her. Did they see her shift back?” Fowler answered, “No, actually. Your Guard portaled in which blocked her from sight.” I sighed in relief, “I was a little worried they’d seen her.” I told them, “Good job.” Then dismissed them.
New Years was upon us before I knew it. Gage told me, “Just so you know, the Warriors are dying to see you use your sparring droid.” I snorted, “They can’t figure out how it works, can they?”Gage admitted, “No, and Micah won’t help them until you use it.” I shrugged, “That sounds fair.” Gage rolled his eyes.
Dad walked into the room saying, “Let’s pop to Faerie. You know your mom likes for the women to make an entrance.” I asked, “Is Wesley coming this year? Or is he with our cousins?” The Lyons alternated going to Faerie and staying with their pack. This weren’t coming this year.
Wesley said, “We are coming with you all this year. Buttercup wants to support Melanie her first year at the party.” I asked, “Are Olivia and Mav coming?” EJ answered, “Not to the party. Mav wants his mate’s first time in Faerie to be more low key.”
“They talked about coming, but both felt more comfortable building to that. Olivia hasn’t wanted us to tell her who her family is, and she doesn’t want to run into them and have this whole huge event. She and Mav are in Faerie though.”
“Our little brother figured he would show Olivia places around the territories while everyone was celebrating. That way she can see them without crowds.” I nodded, “That’s smart. They will run into a few people, but not many.” Everyone nodded.
I grabbed dad and popped to Faerie, staying in a group with my brothers. Aiylee came over to us smiling. I told her, “You look beautiful, cousin.” I looked around and spotted my other Fairy cousins. Fenilton was with his girlfriend, fawning over her. I wondered if he’d take her as a chosen mate.
Aristella was flirting with a group of men. Ariest was surrounded by women. I spotted my other cousins but couldn’t tell who they were with. Aiylee drew my attention back to her, “I can’t wait to see what my aunt has conjured for all your mates this year.”
“Aunt Haley conjured dresses for mom, me, Aristella and Kaira this year. Everyone is deeply jealous of us. They can’t wait for her store to open here. They think they will be the one withglorious designs, but I think we know family will always have the best of the best.”
I smiled agreeing, “That’s very true. I do know that my mom is excited about her store.” Aiylee laughed, “The whole realm is excited for it.” Dad chimed in, “As they should be. My Angel comes up with amazing things.” Aiylee smiled and gave him a hug, and dad smiled at her. He nodded as her mate came up behind her.
Dad greeted, “Exsis.” Exsis smiled at him. I still remembered when my dad hated Exsis. Now, he was much more relaxed with him. I knew that was because he was mated but mostly it was for Aiylee. Dad loved Aiylee and just couldn’t say no to the girls in our family.
Not that I blamed him, because none of us could. We’d give them all the world if they wanted. Or give it our best shot. We all popped over by the stairs when our mates started to be announced. Mom would be down the stairs first. I knew Melanie would be last this year since it was her first year here.
My first thought when Melanie walked down the stairs was planning where I could take her to claim her. Oden agreed, “Best plan ever.” My wife had not sufficiently warned me about her dress. It was incredible, she was a sparkling diamond. The dress hugged and accentuated all of her curves. I kissed her the second she was close enough.
EJ linked me, “This is the wrong realm for that type of thing, brother.” I retorted, “How? We are fully clothed. The Fairies will be fine. More importantly the men will know if they so much as glance too long at what is mine, they will get an explosive headache.” EJ laughed in my head, and I managed to pull back from Melanie.
Angela linked me, “Uncle Aiden is going to find you. You wanted to talk to him, and I need to talk to Melanie.” I replied,“As long as no one makes a move on my mate. She looks amazing in this dress.” Oden agreed, “Mate does.”
Angela snickered, “No one makes a move. One could say it’s the glares given from our brothers, or that the men here have a sense of self preservation. There are options.” It was definitely the glares. I was surprised they weren’t going to try for fun.
Although they probably wouldn’t consider it nearly as fun if I wasn’t in the room. Plus, they all did know that I was a fierce warrior. This realm did have a healthy dose of fear for me. Uncle Aiden popped over and we left, ending up in his office.
My Uncle asked, “What did you want to discuss?” I explained, “I know what my cousin’s mate is.” Uncle Aiden chuckled, “Do you? I assume you mean Hastein.” I nodded, “Yes, I met Kingsley’s Dragon and watched my mate fly on her back in the sky.”
My Uncle grinned, “You met Kingsley’s Dragon? Melaine flew on her? She’s her pet then. What color is her Dragon?” I answered, “She’s purple and white.” Uncle Aiden nodded, “Then you’d know she’s a Princess then.” I snorted, “As you did.”
Uncle Aiden acknowledged, “I did. Though she’s not the oldest in her family.” I asked, “How do you know that?” Uncle Aiden smiled and conjured several books in front of me. Uncle Aiden explained, “As you know I’ve been trying to get a hold of the Dragons, but I can’t seem to get through to them.”
“We were strong allies centuries ago. Some days I can’t believe Alania never tried to re-establish a connection with their realm. Which tells me how entrenched she was in bad deeds to be honest. Fairies love the Dragons. They were actually quite intertwined with our realm.”
