Trevor muttered, “No clue.” Francis supplied, “Buck was a lapdog. Melanie begged him to be good in the light all the time because she seemed to believe he was good in secret.” Trevor scoffed, “He wasn’t. The man has no spine.” Francis said, “Uhh he absolutely was. Buck worked the system all the time.”

Yuri said, “Dolts. Both of you. Buck’s aim always was to protect his sister. When Melanie showed up it was the culmination of everything he could want. Melanie could protect Avery better because she could not learn to shut up and accept life as it was in the pack.”

Trevor argued, “No, Buck wanted Melanie to leave. He argued both times she got into Julliard we should let her go.” Yuri shot back, “Because he has a conscience and Julliard is a hell of an achievement. Plus, Paige would’ve left with her and so would Avery. All roses for Buck.”

Francis said, “That’s true. Especially the second time Mel got in.” Yuri waved his hand, “Like I said, Buck is very different from you, or he’d be dead.” He paused then added, “Or here. He’ll probably own his shit to Avery’s mate anyway.”

Tristan offered, “He already did, and Buck is much harder on himself than literally everyone else involved in the situation. Paige giving him some props and not cursing him was our clue he was being hard on himself.” Someone was going to have to fill me in later.

Yuri snorted, “God, her curses suck. I tried to date that Witch, but she literally turned my dick green for looking at her because she knew I helped hurt Melanie. It was green for months!” Oden said, “I like that Witch a lot.” So did I.

Yuri asked Trevor, “Do you get my point though? That close knit group you couldn’t crack, broke apart to let Buck in. You could’ve been living your life, but you’re here.” I scoffed, “Let me be so clear right now, Trevor was always coming here. He knew my mate’s real name. He hurt her and planned to have her for himself. There is no version of this story where he gets out alive.”

Yuri said, “Ok, so you’re exactly as advertised.” I scoffed, “Yet you think that pathetic excuse of a human had a chance at life once he decided to TOUCH or LOOK at my mate. You helped him. You made those awful words stay on her back.”

Yuri sighed, “I had to. It was survival, just like Buck.” I scoffed, “Bullshit.” I punched him in the face. Tristan offered, “It is. Buck helped people and never once hurt Melanie. Avery even said that part of her problem with Melanie was that Buck took punishments Melanie didn’t know about for her. Then the leadership punished her too.”

Oden snarled, “I hate them all so much.” Me too. I accused Yuri, “You did what you wanted to do. You’re a Warlock and could’ve easily overpowered Trevor. At minimum you could’ve told him there was no way to do it.”

Yuri snorted, “And when he found out I lied?” I shot back, “Spell or curse him or tell Paige to. She clearly loved cursing his bitch ass. Besides, bad guys lie to each other all the damn time. What was he going to do about it?”

I pointed at him, “You knew what he was doing was inhumane. Not that I think any of you have a moral code, but you could’ve played dumb. Trevor wasn’t going to ask anyone later because he thought there was no way to do it. Even if he did, you can LIE. You’re not the Coven leader who knows all the damn spells out there.”

Corbin added in a bored tone from the corner, “Plus, that’s not a novice spell. So, you easily could’ve played it off like you didn’t know.” Yuri glared at him. I smiled saying, “Meet my cousin, Duke Corbin. Who you will cease looking at like that OR I WILL REMOVE YOUR EYES AND FEED THEM TO THE DAMN DOGS IN THIS REALM!”

Yuri’s jaw dropped but he stopped glaring at Corbin. Corbin chuckled, “You’re not too bright, Yuri. I thought you knew all about my cousin and his reputation. Yet here you are, continuously pissing him off.” Yuri said, “I’m not trying to!”

I replied, “Then you didn’t pay attention to my mate talk about how I feel about disrespect. You're Corbin’s to deal with as he chooses. I merely wanted you found to be tortured for what you did to my mate. Now,” I turned to Trevor, “hello Trevor. I have a question for you.”

Trevor snorted, “Why would I answer?” I admitted, “I hope you don’t, if I’m being honest.” Drake said, “He won’t. This pup is a coward.” Oden hummed, “It’s actually fascinating to watch Beta wolves rile people up instead of calm them down.” It was.

Gage called, “I’ve got twenty that says he folds like a cheap lawn chair.” Phil snorted, “I’m not taking that bet. Trevor’s a sniveling weasel.” I asked Trevor, “What happened when Melanie was hunted? Before you answer let me tell you how much your pack is a shit stain for that. Having the wolf less be hunted by fifty Warriors is reprehensible.”

Yuri said, “It was seventy-five for Melanie. Plus some Warlocks. That was twofold. They were making moves on LeadWarrior Jason when he entered the Hunting Ring, and they didn’t want her to find out. Second, they wanted to show Melanie where her place was.”

I snarled, “You fucking knew Jase was alive! YOU KNEW HIS DAMN TITLE! YOU KNEW THOSE BASTARDS WERE GOING TO HURT MY BEST FRIEND!” Jason snarled, “You asshole!” Oden said, “But they don’t know mate is in the Resistance. How did they think she would find out?”

Francis scoffed, “Melanie totally found out afterwards. There’s no way those guys just let him go.” They didn’t know the Resistance saved Jason. Trevor said, “Of course they did. They are wolf less pieces of shit.” Francis said, “All of whom worshipped the ground Melanie walked on. They hated Lead Warrior Jason because of the lies they believed, but they knew Melanie still loved him. They totally let him go after she found out about it.”

I said, “Yeah, that’s not exactly what happened I’ll guess. Anyway, about the hunt and the ridiculous amount of people there.” Yuri interjected, “Don’t be too upset. Melanie’s friends didn’t know how many people were really there. They knew there were more than normal, but not how many.”

Tristan said, “Melanie would’ve had to.” Yuri snorted, “Since she beat them all, yes she did. She might not remember the exact number because she took a hell of a beating afterwards. She might have actually suffered some brain damage. Plus, we took some of her memory about it away.”

I snarled, “You said you knew about me!” Trevor scoffed, “We do.” Gage asked, “Then why, dear god why, are you so set on offending the man?” I pushed at them until they whimpered in pain. I shouted, “You think I’d let my mate walk around WITH BRAIN DAMAGE and not heal her?!”

Drake offered, “It’s practically what they said.” Tristan agreed, “Definitely the subtext.” Phil said, “You both need tocalm down.” Jason asked, “Why? They are right. They basically relegated Alexander to their level of care for their own mates.”

Oden snarled and shifted and took swipes at them all. Neither of us cared we knew they were riling us up. It was working. I shifted back and snapped myself clothes. I demanded to know, “Why did you take her memory?”

Oden told me, “Freya said they have it back now, but mate hasn’t thought about that time. It’s locked in her rage feelings box. Freya said for that to work on Melanie it would’ve taken days of torture even if she was unconscious.” Mother fuckers.

Trevor answered, “Because Robert was there.” I gaped at them. Phil whispered, “Why hasn’t Melanie said anything?” EJ said, “Melanie would’ve told us that when her memories came back.” Yuri said, “It wasn’t a spell on the rings to take that memory. Valdoma came and took her memories of Robert away. Melanie and Robert got into an all-out brawl that ended badly. Robert was hospitalized.”

Tristan growled, “He wasn’t in an accident when visiting family in Louisiana then.” Yuri scoffed, “No, he wasn’t. To be fair, Robert’s family in Red Run does not know that. Magic is fun. Plus, they do have family in Louisiana. Melanie beat the ever loving snot out of Robert. He nearly died. It’s too bad she doesn’t remember because it was somewhat epic.”

Trevor snorted, “It wasn’t that impressive.” Yuri laughed, “She fought spells, and multiple Werewolves, to continue beating the snot out of the man. If Ezra hadn’t hit her in the head with a bat, she might have killed him.”

I snarled, “HE HIT HER WITH A BAT?!” Yuri snorted, “They hit her with a bat all the time. The fact that she’s so smart is surprising. Maybe it’s why she’s not smart about people. They hit that part of her brain a lot.”
