Unexpected Homecoming

Alexander was stunned when Melanie ran away from him. Oden linked, “Freya is such a good influence. Why are we just standing here? Pop and catch her.” It wasn’t a bad idea, and it was certainly fun. Melanie was already in more trouble than she could imagine.

Oden told me, “Freya agreed to not heal Melanie so her ass will be sore when she sits down for a day. I’ll get her to agree to two by the time this is over, don’t you worry. I have my methods.” I chuckled, “You’re the best wolf and you’re always thinking ahead.”

Oden snorted, “Flattery won’t make up for ELEVEN years of doubt.” I mentally rolled my eyes at him and went about making sure that Melanie would remember this lesson. I knew I was certainly going to remember it.

We were both crazy with need for each other and it was amazing. We even let our wolves out. I told Oden, “Have fun.” Oden snorted, “I absolutely will. Rest up, Alexander.” I faded to sleep. I woke up hearing the sound of bacon sizzling in the kitchen.

I linked Oden, “How did we not wear them out? What do we have to do?” Oden replied, “I don’t know, but challenge accepted.” I laughed then walked down and greeted Melanie. I couldn’t help but smirk when she winced when I sat her on the counter.

We talked everything over and I could feel her working through her feelings. My wife knew I was right, but she was so used to making autonomous decisions. She felt stuck. I could admit her plans weren’t bad, I was just done with her bleeding for said plans. that shit was stopping. I explained my feelings.

I searched Melanie’s feelings as I did. I already knew she had an in with Hunter’s. She could’ve found Slade if she’d wanted to, if he’d gotten away. I was surprised to hear a Huntress Princess was mated to one of my brothers.

Oden quipped, “That will certainly make holidays interesting.” No joke. My brother’s guard was going to always be on edge. I was also curious what Hunter’s real history was if they weren’t supposed to hunt us. They were literally called Hunters. What else were they supposed to do? Oden admitted, “I don’t know.”

I wondered if Uncle Bjourn knew now. I knew he didn’t know before or he would’ve stepped in. I couldn’t stop my smile when Melanie told me how she met my brother’s mate. My wife was too adorable. My brother would be in for an uphill battle.

I could actually guess which one would match with a Hunter. He had the patience of a saint, but he was always ready and watching his back. Regardless, I would protect my brother and his mate. Now, I had a head start. I’d start devising plans immediately.

Melanie asked where we were. We were actually in Red Run where the secret house I purchased was. I’d bought it for my wife. Jason told me she’d get homesick, and I wanted her to have a place to come here that was ours. I’d planned to have a place for her to come dance or just be with me.

I thought we’d meet long before we did. It was still going to come in handy since I didn’t know when she’d be ready to be at her parents’ house. The house deeply moved her, and I couldn’t resist my mate’s lips anymore. I popped us home to the yard.

The second we were back, some guy wanted to be all over her. I snarled in anger. I linked EJ, “Who the FUCK is this guy?” Oden linked, “Who cares? Let’s rip his head off.” EJ answered, “I am not trying to upset you when I say this, but a lot of these people like Melanie.” I growled at him.

My brother reasoned, “Most are smart enough to say nothing.” I didn’t like it. I claimed my wife’s lips possessively, clearly letting everyone around know she was taken. Jason cleared his throat. Oden snorted, “Everyone was lucky it was Ajax.”

I linked Phil and Gage, “You get a LIST of these motherfuckers who want MY WIFE and make sure they stay THE FUCK AWAY OR I WILL KILL THEM!” Oden agreed, “Yes!” Phil said, “I have the list.” Gage said, “I will read the list, all is good. Deep breaths are your friend.”

Apparently, there was some big Alpha meeting happening now in a few weeks. EJ linked me, “Ladybug shouldn’t be there because the Supernatural Council is coming. I think we should keep them from her.” I didn’t like it.

Phil linked, “You’ll kill the Supernatural Council if Melanie comes.” Gage offered, “Which isn’t the worst plan, let’s be honest. They are going to die anyway. Note Phil didn’t say we don’t bring your mate.” My Beta definitely did insinuate that’s how thing should go.

I knew when dad left mom behind all hell broke loose. Dad linked me, “I know that look. It’s not the same. Melanie’s not under an active threat.” Wasn’t she? Oden snorted, “Yes, she’s the Resistance Leader.” Exactly! Plus, the Supernatural Council wanted to question her.

I went over several scenarios in my head. I begrudgingly admitted it was a better plan to have my mate out of the Supernatural’s Council’s orbit since we weren’t ready to kill them yet. Especially so close to a big battle when people gathered for my wife. They might see that as a threat already.

Apparently, Sherman thought Melanie was the white wolf too. Great. Just great. EJ linked, “People will find out eventually.” I replied, “Eventually doesn’t need to be today, tomorrow, or even next month.” EJ tilted his head adding, “By the way everyone is inside.” Of course they were.

I popped us inside. Drake wasn’t amused by his daughter’s antics, but I knew that already. Mom was proud of Melanie, I could feel it in our bond. Dad linked me, “Did your mate just wince when she sat down?” I winked at him which made Jason gag.

Sam put her head down, hiding her smile while all my brothers linked me, “Nice.” Cayden squeezed Cassie tightly. I didn’t want to think about that. Oden agreed, “Absolutely not.” Melanie agreed to try to include me. Trying is what we were asking for.

EJ and I began to move towards the war room. I asked, “How are we handling everything at the Alpha meeting in a few weeks?” Dylan chimed in, “I am so glad you asked. I have a special guest to help you.” I groaned.

Dad huffed, “Dylan.” Dylan whispered, “Hush, he can’t explode their heads at the impromptu meeting we have to go to. I’m obviously helping.” Mom disagreed, “Alexander absofuckinglutely can. I might blow them up. The fucking nerve of those assholes.”

Dylan said, “Now, now you’d have to up how you killed the old Werewolf Council. Simply blowing them up won’t do. Now, meet Rowan.” I groaned as a male wolf walked into the room. Phil groaned, “Oh my god.” He clearly knew who Rowan was. EJ asked, “Why?”

Dylan explained, “I told you I hired someone to help you keep calm. To teach you some yoga and breathing techniques. That person is Rowan. I had to put the paperwork through Jayden and Finn. He is now an official Blue Moon pack member.”

“I had to sweeten the deal to get Rowan to come here. He’s the best in his field and that requires finesse and money. Plus, the poor man’s full time job is helping keep the Mini Moody Saint God Alpha Prick calm. He already needs a raise.”

Rowan’s lips were twitching into a smile. I linked EJ, “Tell Jayden he’s my least favorite cousin.” EJ started laughing. Rowan said, “Former Beta Dylan gave me the schedule for our sessions. This will help with your flexibility.”

I told the man, “I assure you, I’m flexible.” Rowan amended, “Well, I’ll make you more flexible and help your breathing.” Before I could say anything mom asked, “What? I fucking love yoga, but I assure you my son can breathe just fucking fine.”
