I sighed, “How do I make Mel feel like she’s not alone now? Because that’s what you’re saying. Melanie feels alone eventhough we are all here now.” Uncle Bjourn sighed, “Time will show her that.” We sat in silence for several minutes before he added, “Like I said earlier, there’s nothing wrong with a good fuck and spanking the shit out of her to get your point across. So long as she doesn’t ask you to stop and enjoys it.”
I snorted, “Aunt Astrid enjoyed your spanking her so much she couldn't sit down for two weeks?” Uncle Bjourn wiggled his eyebrows, “She very much enjoyed it in the moment. Afterwards, when she went to sit down in a chair, not so much.” I snorted.
Uncle Bjourn continued, “Mutual respect and trust apply to the bedroom as well as your life together, Alexander.” Oden came forward, “Freya is looking forward to us punishing her.” Uncle Bjourn laughed heartily.
My Uncle told me, “They all do. It excites Supernatural’s in general when their mates talk about punishments, whether they are male or female. It’s in our nature because mates are not meant to hurt each other. Those that do are abominations in my opinion.”
“In our case, and most cases, mates know punishments are sexual in nature and never meant to actually hurt them. It’s why your mother goads your father and encourages her friends to push their mates. They all know their mates will never hurt them, and they know they will enjoy what’s being done to them. All while pleasing their mate. It’s literally a win, win, win.”
I snorted, “If you know that, why do you enjoy punishing Aunt Astrid?” Uncle Bjourn laughed asking, “Do you enjoy punishing Melanie?” I nodded. Uncle Bjourn said, “I’d never hurt Astrid. Hell, I’d cut off my own hand, or give my life, before I’d hurt her.”
Uncle Bjourn shook saying, “Those spells that force good men to become monsters hit me deeply because I think about what happened to them. Your mom went into a Ribbon Strand anddiscovered an Alpha we thought was just insane and broken over the death of his parents, was spelled.”
“The things he did to his mate because of that spell haunt me. Your dad and I saved her. He dealt with the carnage of the fight, but I went and found the spelled Alpha’s mate and his children. When I found out several years back that he was spelled, I went and told her.”
Uncle Bjourn looked away at the wall then told me, “She cried for five hours in my arms. I don’t know if she was aware she told me what he’d done, but she went through all the things he put her through. Sometimes I look at your Aunt Astrid and pain hits me at the thought of my mind being spelled to do even one of those things to her.”
“Mates should never be able to harm each other. I enjoy sex, you know that. All Supernatural’s have a high sex drive. Your dad would never hurt your mom, but he punishes her a lot. Your mom often encourages her friends, your aunts, and even your Uncle Gunner to goad us into a claiming mode.”
“They enjoy and relish in it, there’s nothing wrong with that. Knowing Astrid is enjoying what we are doing makes me enjoy it even more. It’s a fun side of our nature that is meant to be enjoyed, not feared.” I smiled at him.
I admitted, “I’m worried.” Uncle Bjourn warned, “You’ll worry about Melanie even when she’s right there beside you. My son’s mate is mad at yours, quite possibly enough for everyone. Your wife’s brothers are seething, as are her parents.”
“I don’t think they will get through to her thought at this stage of life. Only you can do that. If Melanie had stayed here, they probably could. The truth of the matter is your mate has been leading and living her own life. The life of a leader, as you know, can be lonely.”
“You’ve had your brothers and our family around you. Melanie had people who didn’t understand how things weresupposed to work. Your wife had that knowledge alone and couldn’t use them to guide her because of how they were raised.”
“Melanie was teaching them the right ways of things and making decisions that affected the Supernatural community at large. That’s a lot of responsibility to be on the shoulders of someone so young. Many people her age, thrust into that situation, would’ve just survived and that’s justified.”
“It’s understandable. Melanie decided to stand up to the wrongs happening around her. After having no one to stand up for them, people began to expect it of her. That’s even more pressure on your wife’s shoulders. Melanie doesn’t even think a lot of those people liked her. She’s wrong, but she believes that.”
I thought about it for several seconds. I couldn’t imagine leading without my brothers by my side. Or having my parents to guide me. Especially my dad. Even my uncles and grandpa’s were there for me helping me learn and teaching me how to handle the pressure.
I told my uncle, “It’s not that I don’t understand why Mel makes decisions alone, I do. I’m here now though. I just need to know my wife will use any means she has to get a hold of me.” Uncle Bjourn stood and put a hand on my shoulder. Oden told me, “I’ll get that message through to Freya.”
Uncle Bjourn advised, “Then make sure your wife knows that when she gets back. It’s a two way street though, Alexander. You have to let Melanie in as well. Particularly with your mate, but that should be easy for you to understand since you have Fairy blood.”
“You understand how it feels when something isn’t fair. Melanie is one of those very black and white people. She’s also highly intelligent. You two will learn and grow together on how to be a couple. Just keep in mind all she’s been through.”
“Your mate is adapting quite well, but those walls, insecurities, and fall back methods of relying only on herself arestill there. She’s a brave woman, Alexander. I’m proud of the both of you, and I know that you’ll both get through this just fine.” I smiled at him.
Uncle Bjourn hauled me to my feet saying, “Now, go try to get some sleep.” I nodded and walked up to my room. My mate’s scent was all over the place. I tossed and turned all night managing to get about an hour of sleep before I started to pace the floor.
I watched as hundreds of people were led in by our patrols to a building that had clearly been conjured. Oden urged, “Let’s go talk to them.” I agreed and popped outside. They collectively gasped at my appearance. I studied the group. It was a partial Demon, partial Angel, and a partial Hood member.
I commented, “Emmett and Heath are going to want to speak to you.” The guy nodded, “Melanie said they would. She encouraged all of us to come talk to you guys.” I asked, “Why didn’t you?” He shrugged, “Some did.”
I laughed, “I have Fairy blood.” The man admitted, “I don’t know what that means.” The partial Demon chimed in, “It means he knows you evaded.” The man turned to me saying, “Everyone who is in the forgotten groups knows Ashley’s story.” Ok?
The man sighed, “We didn’t want anything to do with people who hurt her. It didn’t feel like we should come and have this dream life when the one who saved us. That girl reached down into the pits of hell herself and suffered for it. We were no longer suffering, but Ashley was.” I nodded, understanding their logic.
When they went inside, I asked our patrol, “How many have come?” Bradley answered, “Not counting our allies there are five thousand people that have arrived so far. Sierra said there will be more.” I gaped at him. Oden told me, “His wolf said they are serious.”
There was pride in the patrol’s eyes for their Luna and the following she had. Melanie literally had an army. Oden hummed with pride. I nodded, unable to keep the smile off my face. I walked into the gym and began to hit the heavy bag. I stopped when I heard the door slam.
I didn’t turn around, not needing to. I knew who was behind me without doing so. I greeted, “Drake.” My father in law replied, “Alexander.” I asked, “What can I do for you?” Drake answered, “Melanie isn’t going to care that me, her mom, and brothers are upset she did this.”
I disagreed, “She’s going to care.” Drake laughed humorlessly before he amended, “Fine. Ladybug will care, but she’ll do it again. Me and my boys used to be the sun to my daughter. She was ripped from us, and taken into a world she didn’t belong in.”
