Alpha Sail growled at me, “Alpha Alexander control your mate, or leave her at home.” I snarled at him. Melanie gasped, “Excuse me? Did you really say that when YOUR pack caused this issue? By the way, you can direct your issues to me. My mate doesn’t control me…. and for someone talking about controlling their mate, you certainly have none over yours or your daughters.”

“So… pot meet kettle. At least I’m respectful, until someone does something that doesn’t deserve my respect. Your mate and your daughters are… well… awful human beings. If anyone should’ve been left at home, it’s them. Your daughters aren’t even mates of an Alpha… so by their own logic… they shouldn’t be at this brunch.”

Alpha Sail bristled, “Oh so those two men are allowed, but not my daughters?” Melanie retorted, “Their mates are Alphas.By definition, this brunch is for them… which is something someone of your I.Q. should know… just based on the sign.”

Alpha Sail was turning purple. Oden snickered in my head. Gage linked, “She called him stupid.” Technically, she didn’t. Alpha Sail growled, “Did you just call me stupid?!” Melanie frowned answering, “No, I said someone of your intelligence should easily recognize that mates of Alpha’s are welcome at the brunch. If you interpreted that as me calling you stupid… it speaks to how you view yourself more than how I do.”

Alpha Sail shouted, “This brunch is for the women!” Melanie glared at him. I briefly saw a flicker of dejection on Micah’s face before it passed. Max popped to him, so I didn’t draw attention to it. Melanie got in Alpha Sail’s face.

I popped behind her as she pointed a finger at him, “This brunch is for mates of Alphas, former and current. I understand you were raised with hatred, malice and prejudice against…. certain things, and people; however, it’s time to rise above how you were raised.”

“You are not better than another Alpha who loves males because you like women. You are not above other Alphas because you are a full blooded Werewolf. My mate is easily, ten times stronger than you are physically and in wolf form.”

Several people snorted out laughs because her voice squeaked on the word ten. Melanie blew out a breath, “Ok, it’s more than ten… but that’s without using his Fairy powers. Grow up and educate yourself and your pack. Learn how to respect people... and teach that to your pack, because you all are an embarrassment.”

The former Alpha Sail was making a move, but Melanie simply put him on the ground. My wife growled, “I know alllllll about you. Honestly…. I’m not sure why you thought you could take me. I’m Beta born… was a Female Lead Warrior…. and now I’m a Luna.”

“This is your fault. This is what hate breeds when you have weak willed and minded people that you’ve molded to follow your ways. Deal with it, because this is on you and your prejudice. Black Mountain will never enter into an alliance with yours.”

“I mean… at least not while your pack is run by egocentric, spoiled, manacle, sexist, bigoted jerks. I mean seriously… humans have gotten passed your archaic way of thinking. Your grandson is the only person worth a crap in your family.”

My wife stood up and nodded to Alpha Sail’s son. I suppressed my growl when Melanie greeted, “Hi, Trenton.” Gage linked, “So, Melanie knows everyone.” I retorted, “Clearly.” Trenton smiled, “Ashley.” He shook himself then corrected himself, “I mean Melanie.”

My gaze narrowed on him. Alpha Sail was under the Werewolf Council, not the Supernatural Council. So, how did they know each other? Phil linked, “Gage and I are on it. I’ll talk to the future Alpha’s Beta and Gage is going to speak with his Future Gamma. We will get answers.” Uh huh.

Alpha Sail growled, “How do you know her, Trenton?” Oden snorted, “He didn’t know what his own son was doing?” I glanced at dad, shocked, because he knew all my moves sometimes before I made them. Dad rolled his eyes.

Trenton answered, “You wouldn’t teach me how to fight. None of the future leadership were learning anything from our fathers, so I reached out to Ashley Griffen. We trained with her so we could be ready to take over one day.” Holy fucking shit.

Phil linked, “Well, now we will talk to those men for others reason.” Gage linked, “Oh my god. His own son just outed him for not training him. How many people are doing that?” I answered, “One would be too many.”

Melanie offered, “I mean…. you’re ready… so… if I were in your shoes…. Trenton, I’d challenge your dad. You can beathim.” Trenton smiled at her. Alpha Sail sputtered, “He’s not ready.” Melanie karate chopped him in the throat.

Dad linked, “I love your mate.” Melanie questioned, “Did you train him? The whole room knows you didn’t… so… out of everyone here… I would know.. if Trenton was ready or not… and he is… he’s also actually a good person. I’d advise my mate to enter an alliance with your son, but I would never let an alliance with you happen.”

Alpha Sail growled at her and went to slap her. Oden growled, “Hell no!” I caught his hand. My eyes flashed black. Oden told Alpha Sail, “Don’t you ever raise a hand to my mate again or your son won’t have to challenge you. I will and it will be to the DEATH!”

Alpha Sail gulped, “Your mate assaulted me.” Melanie muttered, “Cry babies. Each and every one of you.” Trenton couldn’t hold his laughter back this time. I said, “Just so you know, my wife wouldn’t have let you hit her either. Just like your daughters and mate didn’t manage to land a single hand on her, when they attacked her together.”

Alpha Sail went red in the face sputtering, “I’m an Alpha and they aren’t.” Melanie said, “They should still know basic self-defense. It’s sad they don’t… but if you think you can do better against me… fight me then.” I whirled around to face my wife in shock.

Oden was snickering in my head. Alpha Sail questioned, “Excuse me?” Melanie slowly repeated, “You think you can beat me in a fight. So… fight me.” Alpha Sail questioned, “Is that a challenge?” Melanie shrugged, “If you want to call it one. I’m simply saying ….you think you can beat me so it shouldn’t be a problem for you to fight me.”

My mate paused then said, “If you were smart, you’d learn from the errors of your father’s ways. The Black Path leadership talked about your dad and his friends… ummm I guess to be nicewe call it a fight…. with Yellow Hills and laughed about it… A lot. Which is kind of crazy when you think about it. Because not one of them could have taken any of the people… that your dad fought that day.”

Alpha Sail agreed, “Let’s fight then.” Oden snarled, “Let’s kill him.” I replied, “I’m not saying no.” Gage linked, “No killing just yet.” I replied, “Let’s go ahead and start up a plan to accomplish that.” Phil linked, “Why did Gage say you wanted a plan worked up to kill Alpha Sail?” I retorted, “Are you really asking?” Phil groaned.

Melanie shrugged, “It’s your funeral… hurt feelings… pride… on the line here… but ok.” Trenton said, “Dad, wait.” Alpha Sail pushed his son’s hands off his shoulder. Melanie asked me, “Can you snap me into fighting attire? This dress is not the easiest to fight in.”

Dylan squealed, “I love her! I just do.” Dad growled, “You’re ruining the fun by speaking, Dylan.” Dylan warned, “Then prepare to have no fun whatsoever.” I snapped Melanie into shorts and a t-shirt. My mate kissed my cheek then turned to fight. I grabbed her arm pulling her back to me to kiss her hard.

When I pulled away, I told her, “You better kick his ass, and not have a single hit land from his end on you.” I linked her, “Or I’ll punish you.” My wife flushed red. Melanie replied, “I mean… one hit? Two, max. That would be fair.”

I growled, “No.” Gage linked, “That’s not really reasonable.” I asked, “Why should I be reasonable?” Melanie argued, “But….” I interrupted, “No.” Melanie tried to continue, “I need to…” I pulled her flush against me growling, “No.” My mate huffed in annoyance, so I kissed her again then let go.

I popped over to my family. EJ said, “So, we should’ve kept Ladybug in our meetings.” Dylan squealed, “Oh my god, yes! Yes, to that idea. It will be better. Those meetings are so dreadfully boring. Here I thought you all didn't have yourmother’s DNA in you. Yet Lead Alpha Mini Prick is coming through for me. I am so proud of you.” EJ rolled his eyes.

My eyes were locked on the fight about to start. Melanie was studying Alpha Sail. Trenton walked over to me apologizing, “Alpha Alexander, I’d like to apologize for my dad, mom, and sisters. I’m not sure what my mom and sisters did, but they are spoiled rotten brats. I’m one hundred percent certain they deserved it.”
