Except Morgana, I thought bitterly. She had to have magical help. Maybe Paige could do something about that. Why hadn’t I thought of that before? Silly Melanie. Freya linked, “You are not the world’s problem solver.”

I kind of was…. regardless, I WANTED to be Odette’s problem solver. I wished for the millionth time I’d had Freya when I met her. Or had personally known Aiden Holloran at the time. He could’ve helped me with her. He’d know what she was, whereas I had guess and supposition.

When we reached the hotel, we all checked in and put our bags down in our rooms. We met the group in the lobby. I immediately noticed people looking at our group and snickering. Specifically looking at Eric. Oh boy. Freya said, “That is unwise.” Dylan must have already started selling his statues.

I picked at my sleeve wishing I’d dug into the statues Dylan got. What were they? Because the laughter was not implying they were normal. Xander was tense along with his siblings. Finally, when we went to get lunch in the restaurant attached to the hotel Xander linked me.

My husband asked, “Do you know why people keep laughing at my dad?” I answered, “I am fairly certain I do… but… like this is kind of telling me I should’ve looked more into it.” Xander asked, “Why?”

I explained, “Dylan Frost is selling statues of your parents… Goddess and God statues. I’m beginning to think your dad’s statue is uh… something… funny… which I didn’t think… fromlike the description of god… but I clearly should’ve found the exact picture of it.”

Before Xander could reply Haley ground out, “Efuckingnough of this shit.” My mother in law popped over to the table next to us. Haley demanded to know, “Why are you daring to laugh at my damn husband? Do you think I’ll let you get away with that?” No…. they did not.

The couple answered, “His god statue Former Beta Dylan Frost is selling at his booth. Everyone’s talking about it.” Haley frowned, “What statue? Did you buy one?” The woman held up Haley’s statue, it was gorgeous. My mother in law had pink wings and the likeness to her was stunning.

Haley smiled, “Well, that’s just beautiful. What is Eric’s?” Eric was beside her in a second. They both looked at him nervously and shuffled their food on their plates. Haley asked, “Did you not buy his?” The woman answered, “We did but….” She trailed off.

Eric growled, “Show me.'' I bit my lip knowing I really should’ve looked into this. Freya told me, “This isn’t on you, nor was it your responsibility.” It was feeling like it was. Eric’s second Fairy power was being kept under wraps… which meant even Dylan might not know about it.

The woman took the statue out with trembling hands and my jaw actually dropped. Never in a million years would I have thought that was the statue. Xander said, “Oh my god, he didn’t.” Haley gasped and said, “Oh fuck.”

Eric roared, “DYLAN FUCKING FROST! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME WITH THIS SHIT!” My father in law stormed out of the restaurant. Haley sighed, “Well, I don’t know how to keep him fucking calm about that. I’m off to save my friend Dylan’s life.” For once, I actually thought Eric might punch Dylan.

I nearly bit through my lip, worried that Haley’s reaction to that statue could bring up trauma. That definitely isn’t what Dylan wanted. I really should’ve looked into this. Freya said, “That’s not your responsibility.”

Yeah… but Dylan didn’t understand trauma responses…. and I did. Xander grabbed my hand and threw some money on the table. My husband declared, “It’s going to take all of us to save Dylan’s life. Let’s go.” This was going to be interesting.

The Statue

Alexander snarled and got up off the floor of his office. I was getting to Melanie this time goddamn it. I yelled, “Phil, give me an exact location.” I could portal to that. Phil was about to answer when the pack link rang out in alarm, “WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!”

EJ growled, “Are you fucking kidding me?! Who is dumb enough to attack us in our territory, on our turf, when we are all here?” I answered, “Someone hoping our Luna’s being injured, or taken out, along with our mom, incapacitates us.” EJ growled again.

Wesley snarled, “Me, not you guys. This was about taking out Buttercup so they must not know you guys are here.” Phil chimed in, “Wes is right. Melanie told Sierra to test the waters on the council files. Sierra put it out there in their files that you guys, your dad, mine, and Max wouldn’t be here because you had a meeting out of state.”

EJ angrily asked, “Because we can’t pop back here? Screw this. We need to get outside.” EJ linked the pack, “All non-fighters stay inside. Warriors, if you’re not outside move it! Today, we protect our pack.” EJ popped outside with my brothers.

I couldn’t move yet though because my mate hadn’t. I felt dad’s eyes on me. I whispered, “Come on Lovebug, move for me.” I felt a hand on me. Tristan gritted out, “Ladybug will be fine. She has to be.” I asked, “How the hell did you guys get here?”

Tristan snorted, “We have Fairies in our pack too.” Jared growled, “Pissed the fuck off partial Fairies who are sick and tired of watching this shit happen to Ladybug.” I replied, “Well, that’s makes two of us.” Jared growled, “I want to talk to her, but put it off so she can have normal moments. Then this shit keeps happening.” I replied, “You might as well talk to her since they don’t seem to be stopping.”

Melanie was moving now and relief filtered into me and Oden. Oden grumbled, “I knew mate was fine. Freya’s healing is superb, but I can’t keep watching this happen.” Neither could I. I managed a smirk because my mate was annoyed.

Jason laughed, “Did my sister just refer to herself as Cinderella?” Dad’s response was full of amusement, “She did.” I could feel his worry for my mom, but Melanie was having her guarded. I growled, “Let’s go kick some serious ass.”

I grabbed dad and popped outside into complete mayhem. I was astonished at the wide scale attack that had been launched. I couldn’t recall an attack like this happening on our pack ever. Wesley was causing an intense earthquake.

Max was by his side growing vines out of the ground and trapping wolves where they stood. Max could make the vines as strong as he wanted. Those wolves were what was the equivalent of being encased in cement.

I shifted into Oden and ripped a rogue's head off before switching back to human form. I conjured a broadsword because someone was getting stabbed like my mate did. Oden snarled, “I want to kill more of them.” I assured him, “You will.”

I stabbed several in the guts, but mine was all the way through. I twisted the sword, ensuring they would die a slow death becoming septic with their fecal matter filling their bloodstream. Jade popped to me, then looked around wide eyed.

My cousin cringed saying, “So, you’re busy. We are under attack too.” I growled, “Of course these jackasses are attacking our family.” Jade quickly gave me a kiss on the cheek before saying, “Stay safe, cousin.”

I replied in kind, “You do the same and tell my other cousins we said to as well. Melanie will likely send help to us both.” Jade smiled, “I do like your mate. I’m off to use the lake to kill people. If only we were being attacked by other Supernatural’s instead of rogues, then I could take their power and kill them with it. Oh well. I bet my mate is there now and upset he can’t find me.” She popped away as I snorted.

Jade could temporarily take people’s powers. She did find it highly entertaining if she was attacked to take their powers to kill them. My cousin called it her brand of justice. Lux popped in with my cousin Gerard.
