Tristan was below us now. My brother pointed out, “Talking kind of gives you away.” I snorted, “Yeah… I know but it’s ok… because you can’t catch us.” I jumped into the next tree. Tristan yelled, “MELANIE JANE, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!”
Freya huffed, “Being a squirrel. I blame my sister for this. It’s her fault you do this because you met the Weresquirrels. With me being with you on your sixteenth birthday we would NOT have resorted to tree jumping.” I mean…. I did it before I was sixteen.
Tristan yelled at me to come down. I snorted, “Why would I do that? I’m winning.” Tristan linked, “Please be careful.” I snorted, “Now you sound like Caine.” Tristan groaned. I got to the edge of Blue Mountain and went through the holoport.
Not before throwing up a peace sign at my brother and mate. Tristan linked, “How is doing a BACKFLIP being careful?” I replied, “I didn’t do a roundoff back handspring with it.” My brother groaned. Mom linked, “That was very graceful. Have fun, Ladybug.” Finally, someone who could appreciate the fun.
Kingsley came through after me saving me from crying. My friend said, “Your brother is lamenting about you having a holoport in a tree on the border. Also was the backflip through the holoport necessary?”
I answered, “Yes it was, and so is a portal in a tree. I’m in trees a lot.” Freya huffed. I said, “Chill wolfie of mine.” Freya snorted and Kingsley laughed. We were in Nashville now, so I grabbed her and ran to the Yellow Hills holoport.
Kingsley said, “Oh good. You were serious about talking to Lisa with the annoying voice.” I changed my mind and ranthrough the portal at the edge of Black Mountain in time to hear Hastein ask Blade to help.
I ran back through with Kingsley to Nashville. I lamented, “Well, crap. Blade is like super good at anticipating moves. He’ll probably find us in Yellow Hills… just to prove he can. Lisa is ruining my game.”
“I’m definitely punching her in the face. I could add karate chopping her throat. Maybe that would make her voice normal. It would be a win for all… when you think about it… she’d have to admit she can talk normally.”
Kingsley threw her head back laughing as I dragged her through the portal to Yellow Hills. The second we stepped through; I heard an argument. Keaton stated with Alpha authority, “I’m leaving.”
Lisa shrilled, “Then you’ll have to run me over! We aren’t done talking!” Keaton argued, “I am done talking!” Lisa shouted, “You can’t want that human over me!” Huh… Katie was a human? It felt wrong, but it also didn’t matter. Humans were fine. Keaton snorted, “You wish she was human.” So, no. Freya told me, “Channing confirmed she’s not human.”
Lisa yelled, “SHE MAY AS WELL BE!” What on god’s green earth did that mean? I advised, “I’d run her over Keaton. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Must you make your voice so annoying, Lisa?” Kingsley snorted.
Lisa asked, “Who the hell are you?” I answered, “Uhh Melanie McAlister… no wait. I got married. I’m Melanie Conners. I should definitely go with Melanie McAlister Conners. I don’t know decisions, decisions.”
Keaton asked, “Are you drunk, Luna Melanie?” Kingsley answered, “She is. We call this version Drunk Melanie. Dylan Frost thinks she needs a different name though.” I said, “Hey now... that’s neither here nor there.” Lisa asked, “What?” Freya growled in my head.
I waved at the man I was helping, “Go on and get out of here. You have plans, Keaton! Lisa and I are going to have ourselves a little chat. To think I wasted time getting Keith to show me your picture when all I had to do was wait for you to talk to Keaton.”
Lisa sneered, “Keith hates me.” I said, “For several good reasons, I’m sure.” Freya agreed, “Definitely. Her wolf is confusing.” I asked, “Why?” Freya admitted, “I can’t put my finger on it, but they do not match at all.” Ok?
Kingsley said, “I’ll actually agree since you seem quite annoying. Seriously though, stop making your voice sound like that. It’s going to ruin your vocal cords.” Lisa growled weakly, “Don’t make fun of my voice.” I winced because that tone actually hurt my ears.
I karate chopped her in the throat. Keaton groaned, “Oh shit.” Kingsley urged, “Just go Keaton Daniels, I’ve got this.” Keaton hesitated then opened his car door. Lisa coughed then asked, “How can you leave me here like this?”
Keaton whirled around practically snarling, “Oh my god! They were right? You make your voice sound that way?” Lisa paled. Keaton muttered, “You had me fighting for you over people making fun of your voice and it was never your damn voice. I’m leaving.”
I clapped, “Good for you Keaton! Don’t let her use your Alpha blood against you!” I whispered, “Because that’s the only reason he defended you. Alpha blood… and not being a jerk… just saying.” Keaton slammed his truck door and left.
Lisa jumped to her feet saying, “You had no right to lay hands on me.” I disagreed, “Uhh I’m a Luna and you’re annoying. I’m pretty sure people would be on my side. You were also impeding a member of your Alpha’s family from leaving. That’s against a bylaw…he could’ve been going somewhere important to protect a pack member… or future pack member. Plus, like I said… I want to talk to you.”
Lisa asked, “What did you want to talk to me about?” I demanded, “Leave Keaton and Katie alone.” Lisa growled, “You know Katie? Why is everyone so about that stupid transfer girl?!” I said, “No… I don’t go to high school… nor live in your area, so I obviously do not know her.” A few people laughed.
I continued, “As per your other question, why does everyone like her? Odds are because she’s not you and doesn’t make her voice obnoxious and one of their Alpha’s likes her. Those are just my guesses though… off the top of my head… which were not hard to come up with.”
“For how I know of her… that would be because Keaton mentioned her. You two are done. Move on with grace… that I’m pretty sure you don’t possess… but try. You’ve always been mean to Keaton anyway. I have that on good authority.”
Lisa rolled her eyes snarking, “Keith Daniels hates me. He never has anything nice to say when it comes to me.” I snorted, “Be that as it may… his thoughts and words line up with the time I made sure no one killed you or Keaton.”
Lisa gasped, “What?” I explained, “You wanted Keaton to set up this whole big to do to lose your virginity to each other. Then you made him feel like crap… the whole time after he put a lot of effort into it.” Lisa paled.
I heard a laugh I knew. UGH! Freya grumbled, “I dislike this partial wolf.” Huh? I’d never heard Lisa was a hybrid. I growled at her, “Now you’re ruining my game because Blade found us. He must have heard me say I was going to come talk to you. You are…. SO annoying.”
Blade said, “Is funny wolf.” I said, “She’s a crappy, mean she wolf who faked having a weird annoying voice, so Keaton had to defend her. You know what… just stay away from Keaton, Lisa. Because I’ll find out if you don’t…. and you won’t like my response.” Blade grunted, “Meant you.” Oh.
I paused then added, “Also leave Katie alone too, Lisa. You had a good man, but you lost him. Deal with it. Don’t make me come back here.” Lisa sneered, “Or what?” She did NOT. Freya snarled in my head. Kingsley commented, “Bad move, Lisa.” Blade agreed, “Is crazy she wolf. Mark words.” Lisa argued, “I'm not crazy….”
It was all she got out before I punched her in the face so hard I broke her nose. I grabbed Lisa’s broken nose and squeezed it. I explained, “Or I come back here and kick your sorry, fake nails on a chalkboard voice, butt. Just let him be happy. You’ve made him miserable… for years. I even heard you lied and led him to believe you were mates… when you knew you weren’t.”
