I put them on my computer and started a board. This would help me narrow down theories and trying to figure out whichHolloran’s were in the Ring. Someone had to help Alania hide everything… or maybe she hid it on her own and merely shared what she found with someone who told someone else in their family.

So, who was the traitor? Alania? Or some unknown factor? Logically, Alania didn’t want her children to know they were the promised siblings, or she would’ve told Haley how to save Arion. She must have had a plan for that.

The promised siblings have to realize that’s what they are to gain their powers. So, she must have wanted Haley to figure it out and keep it a secret. Then her children would be powerful, and Haley could help her other two sons whenever they needed it.

I concluded she was a terrible mother… which I already knew… but she was also unlikely to be the nefarious traitor. So, Alania must have told someone… else… after someone told her… Fenilton could’ve… since Aiylee got her power from his side of the family.

The question remained, who was it? I studied the Holoran family tree. Freya snorted, “I don’t think the answer is going to jump out at you because you’re staring at the names.” True… Maybe the journal would give me something. Just as I reached for it two pops sounded in my office.

I looked up to see Aiden and Haley. Sierra announced, “Abigail and I will be back with food. You haven’t eaten lunch yet, Mel.” They walked out of the room and Haley handed me a drink. I asked, “Is this going to take us to Arion?”

Aiden laughed, “It’s a Fairy sleeping aid. It’s temporary but Arion needs us sleeping to pull us.” I said, “I hope you’re not mad… I don’t want you to be mad… I just….” Aiden interrupted, “I understand why you didn’t tell me when we were together.” I sighed in relief.

Aiden continued, “Haley is your mother in law and you share a bond, not a physical one like the Hackura, with each other. One day, I hope you and I will be in a more secret sharing, comforting state in our relationship. You’re giving me a gift that I should’ve had. I am grateful. You also didn’t hold onto it long and you could’ve.”

No, I couldn't have held onto it. It wasn’t mine. They were owed their father’s last words. Freya snarled in my head. Startled, I asked, “What’s wrong?” Freya growled, “I’m talking to Oden.” I frowned, “Ok… you know that doesn’t make sense… right?” My wolf didn’t answer me.

I checked my bond with Xander, but there was nothing to warrant anger. I said, “Xander seems fine.” Freya snorted, “He’s oblivious. That’s what mate is.” Aiden cleared his throat and nodded to my hands. My claws had elongated and they were lit up.

I linked, “FREYA!” My wolf growled in response. I thought about my hands looking normal. I looked down and breathed a sigh in relief when I saw they were fine now. Aiden smirked asking, “Problem?” I sighed, “I don’t know. My wolf is upset. She’s talking to Oden about something.”

Aiden laughed, “Well then we will have to hurry back for the show, little sister.” I asked, “What show?” Aiden didn’t answer, he merely handed me my drink. I downed it in one go. Aiden said, “So trusting. She is so like you, little sister.”

Haley rolled her eyes and said, “As if we would harm her.” Aiden agreed, “No, we would not.” I said, “Trusting… is not a way people would describe me. I mean… it’s fair too… since I don’t trust a lot of people, but I do trust you guys.”

Aiden smiled at me as they drank their drink. I put the letter in my back pocket when everything began to feel heavy. I closed my eyes and let myself fall asleep. I woke up surrounded by the three Fairies I wanted to be with.

Arion smiled, “See? All is well. Non-Fairies just don’t wake up here as fast. Now, why have I brought us all together? This is all so interesting.” I squeaked, “You didn’t tell him?” God, sound cooler Melanie… you actually squeaked.

Haley sighed, “I had to take a quick nap to reach my brother. I only told him we needed to meet as soon as fucking possible. Then got Aiden and I came to you.” I pulled the letter out of my back pocket. I explained, “This is for you guys. I found it in a book about the promised siblings in the library. Based on this, I surmise that your dad had been in this section of the library. Which means more than likely your… umm… Alania charmed it to be hidden. I think…”

Arion jumped in, “Which you can see through, so you found it, obviously.” I handed it to them. I said, “I thought you guys deserved to read it together. It’s for all of you. I know you can see Fenilton in the Beyond, so it’s not his last words to you… but in letter form… they are… and he well… it’s just....”

Haley hugged me saying, “Thank you for finding this and giving it to us.” I handed the letter to Haley. Arion and Aiden were at her sides instantly. I asked, “How do I go back?” Arion looked at me questioning, “You don’t want to know what he said?”

I laughed, “Of course I do. I like knowledge and knowing things, because… well my Beta blood and all. That letter isn’t addressed to me though. It’s for the three of you alone. My role was obviously to be the conduit to correct it being hidden from you.”

“What you all do with that letter and who knows about the contents is up to you three. It is something for you to decide together. In my mind, my part here is done. You three are together and you have the letter. What you do with that… is up to you.”

Aiden said, “I’ll be interested in the books you found.” I nodded, “Sure. I figured… that you would be… since… well… yeah, it’s obvious… I don’t need to go through them.” Arion smiled, “I do so like you Melanie Jane Conners.” He tapped my forehead and I woke up with a start in my office.

Sierra and Abigail had put food on my desk. Both were sitting at their own desks in the corner. I quickly ate my lunch and got onto my computer. I noticed an alert and quickly pulled it up. My eyes narrowed. Freya snarled in my head.

Cheyenne had run a background check on me and Ashley Griffen. This woman even paid a private investigator to get what he could. Which wasn’t much on Ashley, I’d made sure of that. Cheyenne had my background as Melanie though.

I closed my eyes, annoyed. I tried to calmly ask, “Sierra… isCheyennehere?” Abigail chucked, “And here we go.” Sierra said, “Funny story.” Freya growled and Sierra cringed. Abigail whistled, “I don’t know that anyone is prepared to handle a pissed off goddess wolf.”

I counted to ten in my head then told my wolf, “Freya…I can handleCheyenne.” Freya said, “Or I could.” We should probably not do that. Abigail was right… a pissed off goddess wolf who had access to my memories and everything I’d found about Cheyenne wanting our mate… was not a good combination.

I asked out loud through gritted teeth, “Is that the friend who needed a tour from Xander?” Sierra scoffed, “Umm it shouldn’t be. Elise set up someone to give them a tour. Which seems ridiculous since they’ve been coming here for years, but lord the ice in that woman’s stare when you point out the obvious.”

I asked, “You met her?” Abigail practically shouted, “I didn’t.” Sierra snorted, “Yeah, I met Cheyenne. She’s an uber bitch who sneered at Elise when EJ wasn’t looking.” I growled, “SHE DID WHAT TO THE LEAD LUNA OF THIS PACK?!”

Sierra sighed, “I told Elise that would piss you off. From what I’ve observed, Cheyenne’s sweet as pie until one of the Conners boys heads is turned. She’s not nice to the mates.” I asked, “Have any of said mates mentioned that to their mate with the last name Conners?”

Abigail offered, “My intel from my mate says no.” Sierra confirmed, “From what Phil also said the answer is no. They deal with she wolves like that all the time, so they don’t give them the time of day.” I rolled my eyes, “I’ll giveChhheeyyyythe time of day.”

Sierra smirked, “I know. Just think of it this way. Cheyenne is giving you what you’ve wanted since you discovered just how much she wants to be your Xander’s Luna. Here you thought you’d have to be nice to her for his sake. Now, she’s handing you all the reasons to kick her butt.”
