She spun around when I knocked on the trailer door. I put my hands up. “My bad, I didn’t mean to startle you. I wanted to check on you and bring you some water.”
A beautiful smile rose to her face. “Oh, that is so thoughtful of you. I actually have a water fridge right over there. How about you keep it while you keep me and Frack company.”
That’s what the hell I’m talking about.“You sure? I don’t what to fuck up a groove that you have going on with Frack.”
She turned to Frack and cupped his face. “Frack, is it okay if Sol keeps us company?” She reached behind her and grabbed something. His tail wagged when he realized it was a treat.
“Damn, he likes those. He doesn’t do all of that when Jessop gives him treats,” I told her. Frack was happy when he got treats, but not like he was now. His entire bottom shook.
Gorjess rubbed Frack’s head. “Oh, all of my treats are homemade. Frack is a fan of peanut butter.”
“It’s impressive that you love what you do. It’s sexy too.” I took a chance with the compliment. I needed to see how she accepted it. I wasn’t attracted to females that couldn’t take compliments well. It was either a sign of over confidence or insecurity in my opinion. I could be wrong, but that was how I felt, and I hadn’t been wrong yet about that opinion.
Her head tilted slightly to the side, and her cheeks rose. “Thank you. I appreciate that a lot. I’ve always loved dogs. They never disappoint you. What do you do for a living? You can sit right there.”
She had a little seating section in her trailer with two seats. The inside was much larger than I thought it would be. I had to duck my head to climb into her trailer, but not by much. She looked like she might have been five-six if that. I sat where she instructed. “I’m a professional MMA fighter.”
Her head snapped toward me. “No way. That’s so cool. My daddy used to watch MMA fighting when I was younger. It was a super long time ago though. He even went to a fight one time, and my ma had a fit. It was the last fight of some fighter. Um, um, what was his name . . . Iron Fist.
See, the gods will always set me up for a win.“Is it Hemi ‘Iron Fist’ Leota? When she confirmed, I smiled. “That’s my dad.”
Her eyes widened. “Nah ah!” When I confirmed, she laughed. “Wow, my dad would have freaked if he knew I met Iron Fist’s son. I wish he was alive so I could tell him.”
The sadness in her eyes ached my heart. “I’m sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a parent. My mother passed away from suicide when I was seventeen. She had muscular dystrophy also.”
I found out when I was twenty about my mother’s suicide. She left a letter that she instructed my dad to give to me after I turned twenty. I was pissed at him for at least a month. Gorjess’s sudden hug pulled me out of my deep thought about that time in my life.
“Oh, I’m so sorry. That must have been so horrible. I couldn’t imagine.” She jumped back like she just realized what she’d done. “Oh, God! I didn’t even ask to be in your space like that.”
My eyes and smile were soft. “Nah, you’re good, beautiful.” I needed to shift the subject to something more upbeat. “Hey, what are you doing this weekend? You should come out with me and my boys.”
She went back to Frack, who was the calmest that I’d ever seen. She didn’t say anything for a moment. “Um, I guess I could do that.”
I pulled my phone out and told her to put her personal number in it; she obliged. I stood, then climbed out of the trailer. “I’m going to let you get back to what you’re doing.”
“Okay. Let Jessop know I should be done under the hour. Frack is a good boy, so he’s not giving me any problems,” she told me.
I nodded. I had one more thing to tell her before I left her to her business. “Aye, make sure you invite your homegirl. After all, me and Jessop are fine as fuck.”
What A Night . . .
Gorjess and I texted every day since I met her at Jessop’s house. It wasn’t deep conversation, but it was conversation. That was a start to something. Plus, through our texts, I was able to tell that her ass was silly as hell. It was like she was one of those people that was always happy. I liked that because it was a morale booster.
“There’s a lot of fine ass women in here. You sure you want to be locked in with just one?” Issac asked from his seat beside me. “You’re going to miss all the hos at fights.”
“I’m cool with that. I rather have my woman at my side than a ho that means me no good. These hos are different now. I’m not trying to get caught up in bullshit because of a fat ass, tight pussy, and deep throat that ain’t mine,” I said with conviction.
We were atClub Obsessionin a section waiting for Gorjess and her homegirl, Elica, to come. I told my boy Jessop about her when I got in the house. His ass texted Gorjess and asked for her number. That girl gave him the number to her business. The next day, he went to see her.
“Hell yeah. I feel like MMA hos are different than hos from other sports. It’s like the fact that we beat fuckas up gets their pussies wetter. Shit is crazy,” Jessop cosigned.
Issac nodded. “I can agree with that to a certain point. Oh shit, wait. I think that’s y’all girls.” He pointed toward the door.
My head turned in that direction. There goes my baby. She looked good as hell in her camo leggings, distressed sweater, and boots. She wore a fanny pack, which I thought was dope. Her hair was down tonight.
Jessop and I stood so that we could go meet them. When she noticed me, her face lit up. I was sure that mine did as well. I felt like a simp for a short second.
“What’s up, beautiful?” I greeted her when I was close enough for her to hear me over the music. That required me to be close. I wrapped my arm around her waist to pull her in for a hug.
