There was a secret enjoyment that I had when I watched her get dressed. I especially loved it when she called me in the room to help her pull up the back of those body shaper things that she wore under her form fitted dresses. I personally didn’t think sheneeded it. She educated me that body shapers were to smooth out her figure. I loved her figure however God made it.
She turned to face me. “And you are so handsome. What did I do to deserve your fine ass?”
“Trust me, you’re the favor, not me.” I walked over to her, then lightly kissed her lips. “You ready for our red carpet debut?”
She lifted her shoulder to her ear and smirked. “Of course, I am. The question is, are they ready for us? I can’t wait to see you beat ‘Crybaby’ Carson’s ass. I don’t like how much shit he’s been talking, with his bitch ass.”
My baby was mad as hell when he posted some bogus diss about me on social media. She fussed and paced my bedroom floor for almost an hour, then posted a comment. I told her not to, but she said, “fuck that.” The comment was two simple words that caused a comedic uproar with the blogs.Ya mama.
That had been her comment since with no remorse. When the boy’s mother entered the chat, her comment didn’t change. She told that lady the same thing.Ya mama.I loved the fuck out of my girl.
My arm wrapped around her waist and hand settled on her ass. “No worries. After tonight, there won’t be shit for him to talk about.”
“Okay, I’m gonna tell you something. If I see his mama and she get jazzy, I’m gonna let you have your shine, then I’m gonna slap the shit out of her,” she proclaimed.
I didn’t have time to play with her ass right now. As friendly, loving, and mild mannered as my baby could be, she would turn up in a second. Elica usually would lead the charge, but Gorjess was right behind her. “Let’s go.”
Once we got the dogs settled, we met the family at the Sprinters. Boy, did we have a lot of Sprinters. It took about forty minutes to get to the fight venue from where our houses were.
The media was ready for us, and my baby was ready for them. Gorjess walked beside me with the grace and elegance of the queen that she was. Every question that she was asked, she answered like she had professional publicity training. She answered them better than me.
We spent about fifteen minutes on the carpet before it was time for me to go back to the locker room and prep. Gorjess headed to the front with my family, except my dad, Issac, Uncle Manu, and Naz, who also walked out with me. An usher would come get her before it was time for me to walk out so that she could walk out beside me.
“You’re gonna beat this boy’s ass and get this four point five million, Son.” My dad hit my chest with his fist. “You were born for this shit! This Leota beast runs in your blood.”
He spoke facts. I was born for this. It was in my blood before I knew it was. “I’m a Leota. I’m built for excellence and greatness.”
My trainer, Tony, who trained my uncles, came in to let me know that it was time to get to the tunnel. He let me know that he’d already sent the usher to get my baby. It didn’t take long for her to get to me.
“Hey baby, you ready?” she asked after she kissed my lips.
This woman was every fucking thing. “Hell yeah, I’m ready. Gorjess, I love you.”
There go those bright cheeks. Her hand cupped my face. She kissed my lips gingerly. “I love you so much.”
That was all I needed to energize me to win this fight tonight. The announcer started his spiel, I grabbed my baby’s hand, then we walked out with my uncles, trainers, and support team surrounding us. My chest filled when the announcer acknowledged my baby. When we reached where my family sat, I kissed her before she sat with my aunties and cousins.
Like my uncles before me, it was written in my fight contracts that I did our tribal song and dance. My dad, Issac, Uncle Manu, and Naz always performed it with me. The arena was silent in anticipation and with respect for what was to come.
