Anxietycoiledinmygut. The thought of war had always frightened me, but even with the guys helping me cope and keeping my mind off everything, despair swirled inside.

Humans scared me ever since they took my parents from me. They killed my mom and then took my dad, and I had thought he was dead for so long—they hurt him foryears. And they’ve done worse to so many other supernaturals.

Tears pricked my eyes as I turned off the shower and stepped out, wrapping my body in a fluffy towel. The day had been rough, knowing that tomorrow we would be meeting at the first sign of sunrise at a camp of the Supernatural Council’s on human territory. It was only about a mile or two from the human facility, and my body felt weird. Everything felt heavy. Even the talk today with my dad didn’t help.

The human faction that actually liked supernaturals had decided to wear our armor and fight with us against the corrupt humans. It was a brave notion, one that I appreciated, but I was still worried.

Trixie spent all of her free time with Norman, but every time we got a chance to spend together, she was a nervous wreck. Norman had apparently told Trixie a little of his back story and of his time at Blezen, and she wasterrifiedof how he would react facing the dragons again.

I could relate to that fear because I worried for Rowan the same way.

Kian and Blair still wouldn’t tell Rowan what he had to do, but I had an idea. I mean, I was sure it had to do with Roak, I just prayed the Fates knew what they were doing and that Rowan would come out on top.

Damien was so angry that he couldn't accompany me, but he went to see his parents earlier today and found out that they would be fighting on the front-lines of the demon army.

Rhett would also be fighting on the front-lines of the demon army with his father, something he wasn't too thrilled about, but I knew that he would make his father and the rest of the demons see exactly what he’s capable of.

Kian would be fighting with Trixie, Tabitha, and Blair along with the rest of the witches and warlocks in Kalista that have sided with us. Their main goal was to take out the necromancers, but Blair had said they could take out sirens as well, if it came up.

Thorn would be commanding both the Fire Kingdom and Ice Kingdom armies along with a few earth and air fae that have decided to fight. They would target the human specimens and any stray dragons or drakes.

Thankfully, Trixie and Tabitha had created enough leather bracelets for everyone, but the downside was that it had exhausted their magical energies. They were in the summoning circle meditating and recharging tonight so they could fight tomorrow.

Alister would be fighting alongside his mother. Kian had said that he and his mother would fight the humans and specimens and guide me to where the relic was being held. Evidently, the specimens could not get close to the relic without their magical energy being drained, and since their life force was magic, they died.

Lachlan would be fighting with his pack against the werewolves that were still on the human’s side. They would be fighting the ones that were kept in captivity and even against his sister. My heart bled for him, knowing that he would have to fight her. I didn’t think that his parents were cruel enough to take her side when she was working with humans and had hurt their kind, purposefully, and seemed to enjoy it from the journal entries. I hoped they could make the right choice for their son if Lily didn’t have a change of heart.

All of Briesia were on our side as well. The Arctic Wolf Village had been MIA, and we weren’t sure if they were in Blezen with the dragons or wiped out. But the rest of the shifters would be fighting against the humans.

We all had our purpose, but mine riddled my bones with anxiety.

I sucked in a deep breath before expanding my lungs and stepping out of the bathroom. Each one of my mates jostled up out of the bed and snapped their gazes on me.

Shifting my feet, I dropped my towel. Each of them inhaled a deep breath and flared their nostrils as they caught a whiff of my arousal and felt it through the bond.

The only thing that had been keeping me sane was them. My pheromones permeated the air, fighting against Rhett's.

“Are you sleeping like that, sweetheart?” Kian croaked, his eyes wide as they roamed my body before flicking back to my face. A pink blush bloomed across his cheeks.

“I plan to.” I moved my wet hair behind me and stepped forward.

“Little bird,” Damien growled. “Do you need help getting tired?”

I bit down on my bottom lip and nodded.

In an instant, Alister had me in the middle of the bed and his face between my legs.

I let out a mixture of a gasp and a moan as his mouth landed between my legs, and his tongue dragged across my opening before circling my little nub. His tongue slipped down again and entered me, his fangs sinking into my folds.

Warm blood dribbled down as he let out a satisfied hum.

“Fucking vampire speed,” Rhett grumbled, sitting to my left. His hand went around my throat before his mouth descended on mine. His tongue parted my lips and took charge. His pheromones massaged mine in a way that exploded the pleasure already building inside of me.

Thorn’s ice magic scattered across my nipples, circling around one as he sat on the right side of me. “So beautiful.”

Rowan was somewhere above me, and his flames took my other breast, dancing around the nipple and heating it.
