“Of course.”
“Who’s at the door?” Grayson asked, knowing damn well who it was.
Mirella scoffed from where they were in his room, and I ignored him.
“Let’s go.” I stepped outside and went to let the door shut behind me, but just as it was about to click shut, Grayson forced it back open.
Wren stiffened and the smile on her face fell as she met Grayson’s glower.
He stood in the doorway in his boxers with his erection on display. Mirella wrapped her arms around his waist and peeked around his side.
Grayson’s nose twitched as he noticed the scent surrounding her, and he growled. “The demon’s scent is coming from between your legs.”
The color drained from her face as she crossed her legs at her ankles.
“Why does that matter to you?” I asked him, stepping in front of Wren. “You’re about to go have intercourse with the she-wolf.”
“He’s got a point,” Mirella whispered in his ear, but he shrugged her off and stepped forward.
“Are you just letting everyone have their turn now?” Grayson asked her, trying to move his head to see her, but I wouldn’t allow it. Then, he turned to me. “How can you be okay with that? Don’t you like her?”
“Don’t speak to her.” I pushed my palm forward and smacked him with a sheet of ice that broke and little shards scattered across the floor. “What Wren does and who she does it with isn’t anyone’s concern but hers.”
Looping my arm through Wren’s, I tugged her down the hallway as I heard Mirella coaxing Grayson back inside.
The walk toward the Natatorium was silent, but as soon as we sat down on the grass, she relaxed again.
“About what Grayson said—”
I reached forward and plucked a leaf from the top of her bun and shook my head. “It doesn’t matter. If you and Damien were intimate and you enjoyed yourself, that’s a good thing. As long as you’re happy, so am I.”
Her bright blue eyes widened again before she blushed. “We didn’t, um, make love. He just ah, he, um. Well…”
“I feasted on her until she came twice,” Damien answered for her, appearing from the shadow of a nearby tree and kissing her cheek. “She tastes fucking amazing.”
He was gone the next instant, and my mouth clamped shut.
Wren’s breaths became rapid, and she fanned herself with her hand as she cleared her throat. “Ah, yeah, that.”
A small spark of jealousy lit in my belly, but I smiled. “We can talk about something else if you’d like?”
“Yes, please.” She nodded. “Um, can we go in the water?”
I arched a brow. It was cold outside, so nobody else was occupying the water, and it would be nice to go for a cold swim like we used to do in the summer months back in Briesia. Granted, the temperatures remained freezing. “I don’t see why not.”
“Great!” She beamed and threw her arms around my neck. My hands rested on her hips, and I pulled her closer. “I’ve really missed our time together.”
“I have too,” I murmured before scooping her up and jumping to my feet.
She let out a shriek as I let my ice wings out and flew us over the water, hovering with her. We were getting strange looks from other students, but the only thing I cared about was the giggling fox shifter in my arms.
“Thorn!” She wrapped her arms tighter around my neck. “Don’t you dare drop me!”
“It doesn’t count as dropping you if I drop too,” I whispered in her ear as I tucked my wings back in and dove.
The wind fought against us as we fell, and her grip on me tightened as she squealed.
Our bodies hit the icy water with a splash, submerging us several feet into the depths. Propelling ice from my feet, I pushed us up until we broke the surface.
