I wiggled out of Damien’s grip and stepped into Lachlan’s chest, his erection was hard, and it poked into my stomach as we hugged.
“Um, your—”
“I know,” he told me, reaching between us into his waistband and moving it up so it wasn’t being so aggressive before stepping back. “Sorry, but those noises you made. My Kalista, Wren.”
I bit my lip and shrugged. “I can’t help it when he does that.”
“No kidding.” Lachlan glanced at Damien who winked at him. “Tell Kian I said hi,” he told me.
“I will.”
Damien pulled me back into his chest and winked at Lachlan before he shadow traveled us to the library.
We stepped out of the shadows into a small study room that Kian was occupying. Kian had a ton of books splayed on the desk, and he seemed completely unaware of us as he chewed on the end of his pen.
“Boo,” Damien whispered, and Kian jolted out of his chair and smacked his back on the ground with a strangled gasp.
“When did you guys get here?” he coughed, sitting up and rubbing the back of his head. “I was just doing some studying, but I didn’t hear anything.”
“Shadows,” I said with an apologetic smile as I offered my hand to him.
His warm hand took mine, and I helped him to his feet.
Damien let out another chuckle as Kian let go of me and sat back in his chair as his face turned bright pink.
“What’s wrong?” I glanced between the two of them, and Kian tucked his bottom lip in his mouth.
“You know how I made you come the other night?” Damien reached up and played with his lip ring, and I stared at his tattooed hand.
“Yes.”
“Our walls aren’t soundproof.”
I clutched my tie as my heart dropped. “You mean he heard—”
“You moaning and crying out for me?” He smirked. “Yes, little bird. He heard it all.”
I buried my face in my hands and whirled around. “Oh, Kalista.”
I’d beensoenraptured by Damien’s touch. My body reacted and shut off all brain power when he touched me. I didn’t even think about the walls.
“It’s. ah, okay, Wren,” Kian assured me in a small voice that made me want to be the one to disappear in the shadows for once. “It sounded like you were enjoying yourself... a lot. And I want that for you. I mean, I’m not sure what all that’s like or anything but—”
“Hold on,” Damien mused. “Are you a virgin like my little bird?”
“I’ve never been intimate with anyone,” Kian answered immediately. “I’ve always been an outcast of my coven. I never interested anyone, so I figured I’d either be alone forever or meet my mate.”
“Damn, necromancer. That’s deep.”
“Kian.” I turned around and clasped my hands in front of my chest. “I can relate to that.”
Kian glanced between Damien and me with a look I couldn’t quite place before he smiled. “You’re not alone anymore, though.”
“And neither are you.”
He dropped his head down and started playing with the corner of a textbook. “Are you going to study with us, Damien?”
“Fuck no.” Damien’s shadows wrapped around my throat and pulled me to him. A twinge of panic rushed through me as he tightened the grip enough to hurt, but as soon as his lips descended on mine, the pain turned to something else entirely.
