His silence was enough. Fear rolled around in my stomach. Watching each one of them die was my own personal Hell, and I knew that my vision had shook each of them. We didn’t know what more Viktor was capable of or what we were walking into, but I knew we stood the best chance of going into it together.

FIFTEEN

The guys huddled around me as we stood in the throne room in front of Dad. The Order of the Void stood next to us, and irritation exploded on my skin.

“She’s not an angel,” Gabriel said, flicking his long, silver hair over his shoulder. “There’s no way it was a vision. Have you consulted the seers?”

“Then how do you fucking explain what happened to her?” Aziel shouted, anger vibrating through his voice.

He shrugged like he couldn’t be bothered to think up a reason for what was obviously a vision. “Over-exhausting her new body mixed with a night terror.”

"Bollocks!" Blaise wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "That was more than a bloody night terror."

"What happens to you when you have visions?" I asked him, and his white gaze locked in on Blaise's arm.

He clenched his jaw, sweeping his gaze toward Dad. "I become unconscious. My body sweats, and I see everything the vision wants me to see before I wake up. Visions are exhausting. My muscles feel like they've been shredded after each one."

"That's exactly what happened to me."

"But I rarely have visions randomly, and you aren't an angel. There's no way Heaven would bless a demon with that power." He snubbed his nose in the air.

"I don’t give a damn what you think, Gabriel. I believe in what I saw, vision or not. We are not splitting up."

"Lilith is right," Dad said, stretching his arms over the arms of his throne. "I don't have an explanation for you about why she had a vision, but that's exactly what it was. A vision."

“I respectfully disagree.”

Selene stepped forward, shooting Gabriel a seething look. "We’re going to be taking the North Dakota facility down, correct?"

Dad nodded.

"We have the werewolves, vampires, fae, and angels with us," she said. "Titan will accompany Lilith with this mission since he will help lead the demons."

Titan shot me a wink and slid over toward us. "The rest of the supernaturals don't enjoy taking orders from me."

“Because demons aren’t trustworthy,” Gabriel remarked.

“I’m pretty sure it was you that buried a blade in my back.” My voice was a sharp bite in his direction.

Mirth fell from his lips, dumping hot coals into the pit of my belly. “Let it go, Lilith. It’s been a millennium and a half, and it wasn’t your back, it was your chest.”

Anger flooded through me, but I bit my cheek, tasting the blood pooling in my mouth.

The nerve of that fucking angel.

"We will lead the demons to the Montana facility," Titan interrupted. “Once we’re there, Lilith can call upon the demons when we’re faced with enemies.”

"One of you will end up seeing Viktor," Dad said. "Obliterate him on sight. Don't give him a chance to escape or react. When you clear your facilities, go to the other facility as back up because they will be fighting Viktor."

"Yes, King Zelek." The Order bowed their heads.

"Do you have to wear that?" Dad asked, directing his question at me.

My glare still burned into Gabriel’s hollow eyes as he dropped his gaze to my chest. I swallowed my disgust.

I was wearing a black leather top that covered my neck, a pair of shorts and knee-high boots without heels. I ran my hands down the slick material, feeling Gabriel’s slimy eyes follow the movement. "A witch has blessed it for protection. I don't want Viktor to bite me again. That shit hurt."

"Fair enough."
