"That's because Lilith didn't tap into her memories until the end," Dad said with a shrug. "They'll be fine now."
"They've been drinking Lilith's blood anyway," Aziel commented, waving his hand back and forth. "They've gotten a power boost too."
Dad pinched the brim of his nose while Gabriel's halo flickered above his head.
"Great," Selene chirped, clasping her hands together. "They're all stronger now. Surely, they'll be fine to go after Viktor."
Titan stepped forward before dropping to his knee. "I would like to come as well. Another would benefit them in their fight with Viktor."
The corners of my lips tugged into a smile, and I glanced at Dad.
"Very well. You leave in the morning." Dad nodded, and Titan stood up before standing beside Aziel. "The Order of the Void is dismissed aside from Titan."
"Go to purgatory andtryto maintain balance." I winked, and Gabriel shot me a scathing look before they were teleported out of Hell.
I whipped my head toward my father once it was just us and the guys. “Areyoufucking crazy?”
His brows rose. “What’re you talking about?”
“Aziel,” I gritted out. “I’m talking about you slashing his throat.”
Titan choked on his own breath and promptly teleported himself out of the room.
The guys kept quiet.
“He allowed my daughter to die,” he said. “I had to punish him.”
“He didn’t allow me to die!” I stormed my way in front of him, slapping my hands on each side of the throne. “I fucking told you, Dad! Gabriel and his fucking angels are the ones to blame. Not Aziel. Aziel held me as I took my last breath. He was the only good thing that happened that day.”
He knocked my hands off his throne as he stood up, staring down into my eyes. “Nothing good happened that day, Lilith.”
Hellfire ignited on my fingertips, and I pushed a finger into his chest. “It wasyourfault I was betrothed to Gabriel in the first place! All because you wanted a fucking hybrid!”
He stilled. “Lilith—”
Bitter mirth fell from my lips. “But I guess one good thing came from my death, huh? You got your fucking hybrid, but I’m sure as hell not an angel and demon like you wanted. No, I’m part human! How did you even get Mom to fall in love with you?”
“Lilith.” His heavy hand weighed on top of my head. “You being a hybrid has nothing to do with it. And leave your mother out of this. I’ll talk to you about that later. As for Gabriel, I would’ve never forced you to marry him. I thought you liked him.”
“You thought wrong.” My throat constricted as a deep hunger gnawed at my stomach. Turning on my heels, I started walking toward the portal. “I’m hungry. You can apologize later.”
Dad’s scoff was duly noted as I continued to walk until I reached the portal and went into my room.
I stomped toward the mini-fridge and grabbed another blood bag before sinking my teeth into the bag and drinking every drop I could. I tossed the empty bag into the trash can before flopping down on the bed.
How dare he cause Aziel that kind of fucking pain right after I’d died? And he still justifies his immoral act.
Blaise stirred next to me, tossing over from his back to his stomach and brought his arm underneath him. His back rose and fell with each breath.
The rest of the guys came into the room with hesitant faces plastered on.
I arched an eyebrow at them, and Thaddeus stepped closer with a heavy sigh.
“Kai and I need to switch shifts with Brann and Oren,” he said with his forehead scrunched up as he studied me. “Will you be all right?”
I nodded. “I’ll be fine.”
Kai leaned in and stole a cheek kiss.
