I tapped into my demon powers and teleported us into the room I had made for the Draven clan. Our bodies were covered in hot black flames as we teleported out.
“That was a tad hot.” Kai winced.
My epidermis was still healing from the burns of the teleportation. “Sorry. It’s been a while since I teleported. This body is so much different from my demon body.”
Worry lines creased his forehead. “Did you push yourself?”
“No, I’m fine,” I told him.
He nodded, eyes trailing up and down my body as if he was checking for injury. “Did your demon body look much different from this one?”
“Not too much. My eyes were black, and I had pretty white horns, but everything else is close to the same.”
“Even your height?”
Rolling my eyes, I untangled myself from him and caught my breath. “Don’t act like you don’t love how short I am.”
“I would never.” He held up his hands to show his palms. “You’re tiny, but there’s so much bloody power and strength in you.”
I bit my lip. “I hope you don’t mind more alone time?”
He glanced around the empty room and gave me a boyish grin. “Hell no, I’m chuffed.”
I smirked, rushing over to one of the queen beds and plopping down on it. “I hope that means you’ll join me?”
His heavy-lidded gaze met mine, and he strode over. “No one’s ever understood me like you do. How can you know what I need before I do?” His palms hit the end of the bed, and he began crawling up to hover over me.
“Did seeing him help with closure?” My throat was tight.
“Closure I thought I’d had.”
“I’m glad I was able to help. I was worried I was fucking things up for a second there.”
“Never. You could never fuck things up. Now, on to better things, I promised you I could give you mind-blowing sex, remember that?” His nose brushed mine as he let his body weigh down on top of mine, the hard crevices of his muscles forming into me.
“Promises, promises. Where’s the action?” I licked his lips teasingly before he covered my mouth with his and deepened the kiss.
“You want action?”
“Yes, please,” I murmured.
A playful smirk pulled at his lips. “I’ve been so damn patient.”
“You don’t have to be anymore.” My heart thumped hard against my rib cage.
“I’ve sat back and watched Thaddeus take you, then Aziel, and now Blaise. I agreed to share you, sweetheart, but it’s been bloody torture not being with you while they have been.”
I gasped, my heart twisting in my chest. “Kai.”
His heavy gaze dropped to my chest as he traced his fingers from my cheek down to my neck. “I’m going to worship you the way you deserve to be worshiped.”
My nerve endings were stirring and tingling with the need to be touched as a low, pleasant hum warmed my body. “I’ve dreamed of what it would be like to have you inside of me.”
“Yeah?” His cheeks pinked up a shade. “I’ve dreamed of it too, but I’m going to take my time with you.”
