“We can’t wait around any longer,” Kai said with a hesitant look in his eyes. “We almost lost you. If it hadn’t been for Aziel…”

I reached out and ruffled his hair. I imagined what it’d be like to run my hands through his red locks while he was inside me.

Fuck. I need to stop.

“Remember, I can hear your dirty thoughts, Poppy,” Blaise warned me. “I’ll bet you want to know about me too, hmm?”

“Of course I do.” I cleared my throat, trying and failing to push dirty thoughts of Blaise away as well. “But I understand. Find out what you can, and we’ll do a morning meeting tomorrow.”

“You’ll make coffee?” Kai asked.

“With extra blood!”

Aziel’s nose scrunched up. “Ew.”

“Oh, sorry. What do demons eat?” I asked.

“Life essence, of course.” He turned his nose up before his eyes widened. “Sorry, my beloved. I’m not used to you being a vampire.”

“It’s fine.” I shrugged.I’d been human my whole life, after all.

The guys moved out of bed after pressing a kiss to my lips, lingering a little longer than usual. I was sure they were doing it to piss off Aziel, but it didn’t seem to be working. If anything, he seemed amused.

“Be safe.”

“We will be,” Thaddeus said before narrowing his eyes at Aziel. “Protect her.”

“With my life.” Aziel didn’t hesitate with his answer.

Warmth spread across my chest. Something about him reminded me of a home I didn’t remember, which made zero fucking sense. I was just taking shit as it came at this point.

“We’re holding you to that.” Blaise sneered before winking at me.

Kai gave me another flirty grin before they left the room. It wasn’t but a few seconds after that they left the manor.

Aziel’s smirk widened as his eyes slowly raked across my body, searing me with his stare. “I’m so fucking enamored by you.”

“When did you start staring at me like your prey?” I raised a brow. “I’ve had you since I was a baby.”

He huffed out a chuckle, moving up the bed like a fucking predator. “I’ve loved you and protected you since you were a baby because I knew your soul. I’ve only recently allowed myself the pleasure of seeing you in this light.”

My breath caught.

He didn’t stop prowling toward me until he had backed me up against the mattress, his naked body hovering over mine. The heat from his skin seeped into mine. “I can go as deep as you need. Just say the word.”

I swallowed hard, staring up into an abyss of darkness. “Why does my heart hurt when I stare at you?”

“Because of how madly in love we were before I fucked up.”

Aziel spoke gibberish, yet all I wanted was to be engulfed by him.

I shook my head. “I don’t even care to get into that right now.”

The weight of his body descended on mine, shooting jolts of ecstasy through every nerve he touched of mine. I couldn’t resist. My arms wound around his neck. My legs opened for his hips to press against mine. His hard head teased the entrance of my soaking slit.

“I want to consume you until you’re all mine,” he growled. “I’ve never had to share you before, but I’ll do whatever makes your heart complete. Besides, harems are normal in Hell for a powerful being such as yourself.”

“You don’t have to share me right now,” I gasped as he moved his cock teasingly up and down my opening to my throbbing clit and back. “Make love to me, Aziel.”
