As the hostess escorts Victor and his friends to their table, Victor stops halfway as he senses something. He looks around to see who it is. He starts noticing the auras of everyone at the restaurant.
“You okay?” Elliott asks Victor.
Victor snaps out of his trance. “Yes, sorry, I was looking for the restroom. I’ll be right back.” Victor leaves Elliott and acts like he’s walking to the restroom.
Victor goes back to focusing on everyone’s aura. He passes by a couple and can see that the man is in love and has feelings about proposing. The woman he’s with doesn’t feel the same.“Poor guy,”Victor says to himself as he walks past them. As Victor is about to walk down the hallway to the restroom, he notices a guy sitting alone, not far from where his friends are sitting. The man’s aura looks a little off to Victor.
Victor realizes, “Leo.” Victor takes out his phone and shoots Leo a text. Victor looks back at the man sitting alone. He turns around and gives Victor a wink. Victor walks back to his friends as he passes by Leo. “That charm really does work,” he whispers to Leo.
Victor sits down with his friends as soon as the server brings everyone their drinks. “I ordered the drinks before you arrived so we can have them once we sat down,” Victor says, while scooting his chair in. He raises his glass toward Amber, andeveryone follows. “Welcome to the Flirty and Dirty 30 Club!” Everyone cheers and clinks their glasses together.
The five friends order their meals, a few more drinks, and catch up with each other. Amber chastises Elliott for talking about a time they flew together that was embarrassing; Frank laughs. Amber threatens Frank for laughing, but Lupe intervenes. Amber glares at her fiancée, and Lupe glares back. Amber apologizes to Lupe with a smile, and Victor laughs at it all.
Victor feels more like himself again. Not having to worry about his lessons or the fact that there is always someone after him. This is his family. The ones he can always call upon when he needs them. They always have each other’s backs. Victor can’t give this up, no matter what Leo says.
After everyone finishes their meal, the server comes over holding a slice of cake with a candle. Amber blushes as everyone sings “Happy Birthday.” When the song concludes, she blows out the candle.
“PREESSEEENTS!” Lupe sings joyfully. “I hope you like this one, my love.”
Victor smiles as Amber opens her gift from Lupe. Suddenly, he starts to feel dizzy. He tries to keep it together. Victor’s eyes flutter. It becomes difficult for him to breathe. He feels around his pockets for his silver card.
“Victor, is everything okay?” Elliott asks, concerned.
“I-I’m fine. It’s just a massive mi-migraine,” Victor responds, trying not to come undone.Why is it always when I’m eating?Victor says to himself.Where is that fucking card?
“Oh my god, Victor, do you need me to look for a doctor?!” Amber asks.
As Victor tries to look at Amber, he notices a female server in the background holding and shaking his card in her hands. “You bitch,” Victor spits.
“I beg your pardon?!” Amber bolts out.
“Not you, her!” Victor tries to point at the server. Victor looks over his shoulder to where Leo is sitting and sees another witch across from him. Victor can’t see what spell she’s using to keep Leo in his seat, but he needs to do something.
I can’t let them do this to me. Not in front of my friends. Not in front of everyone here.Victor tries to figure out what to do before he succumbs to the force trying to knock him out. The server holding his card twists her wrist upward, setting the candle and cake ablaze.
“THE FUCK!” Amber shouts as everyone jumps back from the table. A few women across from them scream and run, causing a mass commotion.
“VICTOR!” Elliott shouts as he tries to pick Victor up from his seat. “We need to go!” The fire starts to grow and get hotter.
“NO!” Victor shouts as he pushes Elliott off him.
Victor regains control and covers his face by crossing his wrists with his index fingers pointing upward. The fire shoots over to the server, and she dodges out of the way.People are running toward whichever exit they can find. They push and trip over each other, trying to avoid the chaos. Victor’s friends are stunned as they try to figure out what is going on and what Victor is doing.
Victor stands up, spins around on his heel, and uses Air Magic to pull the witch at Leo’s table. “Leo! Get them out of here!”
“Leo?” Elliott questions with confusion. Elliott looks around, befuddled. “Leo’s here?”
Leo appears from the charm and runs over to Victor, saying, “You can’t fight them alone.”
“Get my friends out of here first,” Victor demands as he turns his attention to the server. “I’ll handle them.” His eyes are now glowing white.
Amber notices Victor’s eyes and becomes startled.With a shaky finger, she points at Victor’s face. “V-V-Victor?”
“Let’s go!” Leo shouts at Victor’s friends.
“What about Vic?” Frank asks, panicked.
Leo looks over at Victor, watching him take on the witch that bound him to his chair. “He’ll be fine. Now let’s go!” Leo grabs Amber by the shoulders and turns her toward the exit. Before Leo and the others can reach the doors, two more witches appear, blocking the way out.
