“Ah shit and she’s got a kid?” Danny says over my shoulder. “Fuck she’s gorgeous. No wonder she’s got you all tied up in knots.”

“Never thought I’d see the day,” he says, clapping me on my shoulder. “But I can’t say that I’m sad at all. More pussy for me.”

Shaking my head, I fire back a text.

I would love to bring you both to a game sometime.

It takes her forever to reply.

I don’t reply, pocketing my phone and returning my attention to the game, but I can’t concentrate on anything but her and this feeling deep down in the pit of my stomach that tells me this is more than just some infatuation.

Marley

“I have someone I want you to meet,” Peter says as I take a seat at my desk. My next patient doesn’t arrive for another hour so I thought I would give him a call and catch up since I haven’t talked to him all weekend. “He’s not as hot as Mr. Tall, Dark, and Tattooed but he’s still pretty hot.”

“What did I tell you about trying to play matchmaker?”

This is not the first time Peter has tried to get me to meet someone but I always tell him no. I’m not ready for a romantic relationship with anyone. Not yet anyway.

Peter continues, ignoring my blatant disinterest. “Remember my friend Kody?”

“The yoga instructor?”
